The Cove Restaurant — Restaurant in Charlestown

I came to this place a few years ago and the hostess was very rude to me and my family, we debated leaving but decided to stay, The food was plain and overpriced so we decided not to return however just recently me and my family were with some friends and decided to go to dinner, every place was packed so we thought to give The Cove another try, we were about a minute or two away and called just to make sure the wait was not too long, the hostess told us it was about a 15 minute wait but when I got there it had changed to 45 minutes, I explained that we had just called and were told it was 15 minutes and the woman began raising her voice to me and telling me that it had filled up in a couple of minutes, I work in the restaurant business my self and know that it can get busy quickly but what annoyed me was how rude the hostess was to me and realized it was the same rude hostess from the time before, I left the restaurant angry but called to complain to the manager later on, as turns out the mean old hostess is actually the manager as well, before I could even finish saying what I had to say she began yelling at me over the phone, I was very polite and simply explained that I was offended by her attitude and that it was the second time I had to deal with it, She continued to yell and talk down to me so I told her off and hung up on her, my argument is not about the wait change, its the woman's bad attitude, I don't care if you are the manager, you do not treat paying customers poorly, it is rude, classless and unprofessional, its pretty sad when you have actually had better food and service at Burger King but in all seriousness there are much better restaurants to visit in the area with better food, atmosphere and service so don't waste your time or money...

The management at this establishment is awful. Very confrontational. We waited an hour for a table, which is fine, it’s the summer busy season. Then 40 mins for our food once ordered. When our food arrived, what we received was not what we expected. We simply asked the waitress if we could order something else and that we did not want the entree. She took the entree, came back with it boxed and bagged and stated that the manger said that they could not comp the entree because it did not specify on the menu that it was hand breaded. I ordered a new entree and asked for the manger. When the manger approached our table she was very defensive and confrontational raising her voice so loudly that other restaurant goers were looking at us. It was awful and I had to deescalate the situation because the manager continued to repeat herself, not even listening. Went twice last week and was very happy both times! The place is HUGE inside, and has additional seating out back. It was PACKED both nights we went, yet, somehow, we were seated quickly enough, and the wait for service and our dinners all went smoothly. We had a chicken parm grinder with a side salad ($3). The chicken was delicious, nice breast meat not a patty. Good sized portion. The Fish n Chips n Strips was outstanding, even better with sweet potato fries. The second visit we had the seared/blackened tuna (a special) and the whole belly clams. The tuna was beautifully cooked, very rare inside, nice sear outside, served over a salad. The whole bellies, while tasty, was a bit pricey at $30, and honestly, they weren't any better, and hardly bigger, than the strips. Next time I'll order the Fish n Chips n Strips again!
