If you’re seeking large braids and don’t mind being in a sketchy neighborhood, this is the spot for you. Large cornrows/lemonade braids are popular at this spot.

If you’re seeking a detailed style with small braids I suggest you go somewhere else. Although the ladies are pleasant, smaller braids don’t seem to be their forte. I went in on two different occasions with a picture of two different styles and although I got similar styles the braids were much larger and lacked details.

When a customer is provided a price for a pictured style they should get just that and in the event there has to be corrections made to achieve the agreed upon style, there should be no additional charge to the customer. This was not the case during my last visit to Awa. Although I provided a picture of a style with several rows of braids, I was given one row. Once I pointed out the difference in the pictured style and what I received I was told it would cost more to obtain the pictured style. WHY HAS THE PRICE CHANGE, WHEN THE PICTURE DIDNT CHANGE? Needless to say the braids were corrected by another Braider. Her braiding and feed in pattern was different from the original Braider, so my braids are inconsistent.

Terrible service I made an appointment for box braids first of all I waited a hour for the besides to show up even after I called to make my appointment. The besides got to the shop and started on some feed in braids that I switched to because I was running it off time and had to be at an event. I showed her the style and she did what she wanted to do when I was done my head was throbbing for about 4 days before I just couldn't take it anymore and took them out. I was so dissatisfied I will never ever go back to this braiding shop again I waisted my money because a few days later I had to pay to get it done again.
