Food Lion — Local services in Charlotte

Where do I begin? I walked into this food line earlier today and looking for meats and things like that and I ask where was the meat and the young man in the back got rude so things quickly escalated so instead of the manager on duty coming to de-escalate the situation he escalated it. And I’m trying to understand for the life of me. I’ve been in this food line clearly over 500 times and I try to carry myself in a professional manner and the manager said oh we don’t tolerate this telling me oh I shouldn’t have talked or whatever clearly a direct violation of my constitutional right that I am able to say whatever I want to say, I wasn’t rude and I didn’t cuss him out but the young man in the back seems to me had an attitude and they’re gonna tell the manager I wasn’t shopping and I have proof that I was shopping so as things escalated, they bought security to the back to escort me out and it’s nothing wrong with escorting someone out or whatever but now that they did this, I’m going to make sure that I hit them in their pocket because you can’t tell me to be quiet you can’t tell me anything talking about. I was loud when someone’s in my face of course I’m gonna get loud and of course I want to defend myself. And it also seems to me that he had an issue with me, but I’m not worried about the issue that he had but I promise you this that I’m going to make sure that everybody that I know that shops there don’t go there because the one thing that you’re not gonna do because you have a title as a manager that means nothing to me and when I made the comment that I don’t like shopping there I don’t that’s just my personal preference not to shop there, but I was shopping for someone else so now that he did that he opened up Pandora’s box so now is not what you know is who you know and I’m going to make sure I let corporate know how rude you were so that way we can adjust things, but under no circumstances will I ever allow anyone to disrespect me because I didn’t disrespect them y’all don’t have the meat or whatever but see that’s the problem. This is how things go in the black community. Y’all don’t put nothing in here and then when we ask oh y’all don’t have it. Y’all had a busy day, blah blah blah listen I’m from the hood. I know how the things work y’all were just too lazy to go in the back cause y’all had just got a truck. Y’all were just too lazy to go back there and see what hurt you. The most is because I knew when your truck came so now that y’all embarrass me and tried to have a security escort me out that’s fine but I guarantee you that I’m gonna hit you where it hurts. I don’t have to shop there. We have Kroger‘s from where I’m from. Nice markets. That’s where I’m from. We have nice markets, but you’re not gonna sit here and try to play the intimidation game and as a customer you should’ve defended me Mr. the manager, but you didn’t and because you didn’t you failed in customer service so with that being said oh just so you know I have some witnesses that was in the store with Me ticket to continue the situation. I’m not worried about y’all but most importantly y’all need to have better customer service and sold that you failed that that now I’m going to allow myself to Publix publicly let everyone know the food line on Betty Ward Road sucks you cannot stop me a freedom of speech and you failed by telling me I should’ve been quiet. You don’t ever tell me to be quiet my daddy’s dead and my mom is in Pennsylvania so because of that you’re going to feel the squeeze on which I did, y’all don’t know how to have good customer service and most people complain and y’all do nothing about it. They just go to other stores so since you want to make me a look like an idiot by calling your fake security, what was security really supposed to do to me not a damn thing they were gonna do to me, but just keep it pushing and keep it moving. I don’t have to come back to your food line. That’s what you don’t understand because let me tell you something when Food Lion...

I have been a FL shopper since Ralph Ketner started the company. I lived less than 5 miles away from store number 1. I visited this store briefly last night because it is the closest one to my new house. As soon as I exited my vehicle I was met and followed to the door by a panhandler. I walked in expecting to find sanitized carts as I used to at the Johnson Rd location in Pineville but no. Not even a cleaning area. I got my bananas and proceeded to look for the rest on my stuff on the list. The next 3 items were out of stock or not carried. I put the bananas back and left the store. When leaving I was followed back to my vehicle by a second panhandler after being verbally abused by panhandler number one. For a single female I was very shaken up and felt VERY UNSAFE. Now I am not saying that I will abandon FL but I will not return to that store and since there are 2 Harris Teeters and a Publix within 5 miles that is where I will be. BTW when I left I went grocery shopping elsewhere so this store lost...

Just a couple of days ago I dropped my wallet there. And when I came back to talk to one of the managers to ask about it. They asked me to wait so that they could review the camera to see what happened. They told me that they saw on the camera where my wallet fell out of my pocket as I was walking out of the store. He then went behind one of the registers and returned it back to me. I was so happy. This has really improved my past feelings about this area and this store. But I still wish my black people would take true pride in their living area to not just throw trash on the grounds in the parking area and keep the area cleaner. I believe that keeping our areas clean shows God that we thank Him and appreciate Him for how He has blessed us. But I still must give them 5 stars for what they have done for me. Thank you Food...
