6/17 Just another example of the kindness of one of the employees at this Food Lion. Meghan thanks for helping me maneuver those huge sunflowers (2' long) on Monday. I was delivering them to a kind and patient lady. Meghan took the time to help me carry them to the register and out to my car since I had my trusty cane and couldn't carry them with all of the items I had to carry. Thanks, Meghan! Just another kudos to this Food Lion in Huntersville! I have shared about Food Lion before about how friendly, helpful and professional the employees are. I have since then broken my hip and had to do my shopping in a motorized grocery cart. The 1st time I went in after my injury an employee not only instructed me on the use of the cart , she joined me for the first few moments of my shopping to be sure I got along okay. While shopping, all employees that I encountered helped reach items for me and helped me find items that I couldn't find. After checkout, someone loaded my car and returned the cart for me. I'm not sure what more I could have asked for! Thanks Food Lion, for all...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFood Lion has been around a while and it's a grocery store. Not much else to say, but they do seem to have lower prices than many of their surrounding competitors for some items.
There isn't quite the same variety of brands that you might find in another chain, but it's a good bet that those extra choices will add to your costs if you add them up over time.
For us, Food Lion adds a good value for certain items, so we "follow the money" and buy some things at Food Lion and some things elsewhere that maybe aren't available at Food Lion.
But the store is clean and bright. The staff are amiable, even if it sometimes seems like there aren't enough cashiers available -- could just be the time of day, though.
I like that the pricier chains have Food Lion as competition. I always notice that I tend to leave with a cart-full that costs about $75 instead of the same cart-full from "the other guys" that would cost around $125.
So, for overall value it's not a bad place to shop if you're looking to optimize the value of your shopping dollar, add Food Lion...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDuring my recent visit, it is apparent and obvious that Food Lion is updating their stores appearance and layout. Even through the adjustment, the store is kept neat and clean. The staff that I have come across has always been friendly and helpful. I look forward to seeing what's coming.
Here we go again... the hording of Toiletpaper. How is it that we have become so self focused that we fail to consider others. We make the paper products here in the States. It's not an import.
Proctor & Gamble, makers of Charmin, has a plant in Mehoopany, Pennsylvania, which is the company's largest plant that produces Charmin and Bounty paper towels. Proctor & Gamble also has paper product plants in Green Bay, Wisconsin; Albany, Georgia; Box Elder, Utah; Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Oxnard, California.
Always clean well and organized. The staff is always friendly. Checkout is as quick as you would expect when everyone is coming home from work and trying to pick up something...
