We've come to love this place, but tonight we had a pretty terrible experience. Bad experience outlined below, original review is below that. Apparently this is right around the time new ownership started.
I'm not one to ask for the manager or complain, but I had to speak up. The full size Greek salad that I love has 3 tiny sliced pieces of chicken, for $4 dollars. When normally I've ordered this salad and it's an entire filet of chicken, 8-10+ pieces. Also, it had Caesar dressing on the side instead of Greek (I didn't complain about this though since I like Caesar just as much). The waitress argued with me, so I asked to speak to the manager. I was not about to let this slide, as this was not normal and not worth $4 in ANY restaurant. The waitress came back and said that was normal according to the manager, at which I said I would like to return the chicken then and not pay the $4. The waitress left to speak to the manager again, and before she could return the cook came out with a small bowl of more chicken, and SLAMMED it onto the table. We were shocked. After so many amazing evenings spent at this restaurant to be treated this way over just $4 of chicken, I am removing two stars from my review. I hope that management will see this and recognize any training issues that may be present that could improve customer experience for the future.
Original Review: Excellent service, food, and atmosphere. Ordered the Greek salad with blackened chicken many times and it was the best salads I've ever had. Husband has gotten the chicken and waffles and the Fire in the Hole burger, he said both were excellent. The lobster Mac and cheese is SO decadent, rich, and flavorful! We will be coming back here often for good casual date nights with great food. Great job,...
Read moreMy event was hosted at this establishment on Feb 23rd as part of Blk History Month for the group I'm a member of called My Gurlfriends. First let me say when so many other Black establishments I checked out (with a more "upscale" ambience shall I say) didn't either take reservations, or didn't take as many as my group needed, OR wanted a CC hold $...Maurice and Bridget Jones owners said YES..we will take on a party of 30!! Now granted did I inquire of every Black owned & operated restaurant...no I didn't, but after a few not working out, once Maurice & Bridget say sure, I just stopped looking! And actually I'm GLAD I did..bc they did not disappoint 🙌🏾!! They showed up and out for a group of 30 in a "sports pub bar" yall. They made it work!! From the manager Will..to our 2 servers Dreya & Yanni...it was GREAT. Fast service, polite, and mgr Will was SOOOO accommodating telling me to let him know of ANYTHING I needed. And yes yes yes...he and his team were at our beckon call. From start to finish, never with attitude but with gratitude that they were there FOR US.
Owner Bridget kept in touch with me the whole 2 weeks leasing up to today. Even texting me 2 hours til showtime she was enroute. Upon arriving she had EVERYTHING set up just as was requested. She checked on me, she asked questions, she was engaged. That speaks volumes to me!! I really wanted some 5 star restaurant to host my event, but this was just as good and u know what..? I'm GLAD I came here. The food was just delicious 😋. All 30 in attendance took home to go boxes..they were so full...all positive comments of how tasty food was. So yea...don't knock a "small" joint...cuz sometimes they come with "big" results..just like Eastfield...
Read moreThis is one of our all time favorite spots...we used to go every week when we lived in the neighborhood, and then we have still been often since we moved 5-6 miles away several years ago. We could always count on good food, good draft beer selection and good service that wasn’t overpriced. We went to eat there about three weeks ago and it was closed for renovations.
We went tonight after they are back open and it appears they are under new management. The staff was completely different even down to the uniforms they were wearing. It was the worst service we have ever received in the 10-11 years we have been going here. We had 4 different waitresses, received dirty appetizer plates (there was sone kind of sauce between two of the plates), and had to flag a waitress down when our drinks were empty. We could never flag down a waitress when our daughter needed another napkin, and ended up having to go get one off the serving area ourselves after waiting 10 minutes for a server to come by....even after making direct eye contact with one and raising my hand. The staff was completely flustered and seemed to have no idea what they were doing. It was over 45 minutes before we got our food...a kids burger, regular burger, and a whisky chicken.
When the food finally came it was amazing as usual which is why I’m giving more than one star. I hope this is a fluke and doesn’t continue, and we will give it another shot. However if this happens again on our next visit we won’t be back. Draft beer prices have also gone up significantly, which is...
