Terrible customer service coupled with equally terrible workmanship. We met with Stuff It in Mar 2020 to discuss reupholstering our vintage sofa, and selected and paid for the fabric at that time. In May, we gave them a call and learned that the fabric had not been ordered; they had written down the fabric information wrong - and not been able to find our phone number to contact us. Not a problem - mistakes happen, right?
We were patient for a few more months, appreciating the impact that the pandemic had on small businesses, then started making regular calls in Aug. We were repeatedly told that Larry would begin work on the sofa "this week", only for a few weeks to go by with no progress. On one memorable occasion, Larry answered up the phone and promptly hung up when I identified myself; when I called back a few seconds later, another employee picked up - in mid-sentence with Larry - and then told me that Larry was not there. Wait...what?
By Sep, our patience was exhausted. It was only when I asked Stuff It for a refund that I was told that the work would be completed the following weekend. Six months and over $800 later, our sofa was returned - featuring raw edges, lumpy and uneven cushioning, and a hundred crooked and visible staples. In addition, none of the elements that we had initially discussed with Larry - e.g., piping around the edges - were included. Though they had our sofa for months, it was clear that they only spent a few hasty hours on it, maximum. Which is a shame, because I was perfectly willing to forgive everything up to that point - hey, it's been a tough year! - as long as our sofa looked amazing.
To describe this as "poor workmanship" would be an understatement. At the time, we were on the verge of an out-of-state move, so I didn't fight it - but in retrospect, I should have. It's been slightly over a month since we picked up the sofa, and we've already lost several of the staples and the fabric is starting to loosen; we'll need to get it reupholstered again in order for it to be usable.
In short, we feel disappointed, cheated and deliberately deceived, and could not recommend Stuff It to anyone in good conscience.

Read moreI highly recommend and give "Stuff It Upholstery" company in Hixson five big stars!! I am telling all my friends now about the company and the owner Larry Skelf! He listens to what the customer needs done and then does a fantastic job on each and every chair his customers bring in to him! I brought into Larry's shop eight different chairs which my parents bought in the 1940's to the late 1950's. Each chair needed desperate help - sitting down in them you would sink deep into the chair - the cushions were so worn out that your back would hurt terribly after only a few minutes! Larry fixed each and everyone to such new condition, that no one in my family can get over that they are the same chairs!! Finally, finally all my chairs support a person in total comfort! What a shock it is still to sit down in one after all these 60 plus years of putting up with sagging seats! I cannot say enough wonderful things about the company!! Read moreStuff It is a wonderful company! They have saved the day twice for me in the last month! My husband has cancer with right side weakness. His Physical Therapist suggested getting a pillow or something to put in his recliner to make it easier to stand up. I measured the width and length of his recliner seat, took the measurements to Stuff It and they custom cut a foam cushion that fit perfectly! You have a choice of foam density, which was great also. It was perfect and gave him some independence back as he could stand and with the help of his walker walk around the house without assistance. He has since weakened and had to move to a wheelchair. His PT noted that he was struggling to stand with help, and again suggested a foam cushion like I bought for his recliner. Game changer!
