It's a great place to go fill out employment applications, get help with your resume, find legal help. Mrs. Joyner is so knowledgeable, helpful & caring. It's a great place for ppl that may've just moved to the community to go to learn about the resources Cheraw has, jobs, continuing education or for ppl that may need help with food & bills. They have to use the resources Cheraw gives them & unfortunately ppl of Cheraw DO NOT invest into this place enough. Thank God I've never personally needed their assistance with bills but I have with other things, like food, looking for a place to live...(immediately). I got a little food, but I was told to apply at Housing Authority for housing once, which is a good option but not everyone wants housing authority and I couldn't be on a waiting list...which most ppl can't when they need somewhere for them & their children to live. Other than that, the Ladies there are very, very friendly & helpful. They try their best to help you & will help you get a job. They love & will help you alot with your children, ex. registering them for school, food, books,...

I received absolutely nothing... no guidance, no referrals, no assistance. There were 2 ladies on staff, the afternoon of my visit. I was not greeted, nor was I acknowledged in any other way upon my arrival. I took a seat outside of an office, for what seemed like forever. I had to, actually approach their representative, to inquire about rental rates, availability & current specials. I hoped to at least, gain insight into the services offered to the community & residents in need. Unfortunately, my presence was "bothersome" on their TGIF afternoon. The EOC is an employment facility with many different departments. The employment area is in the back, where you are able to search for jobs, create your resume and sign up for other resources by asking the person at the desk. A clean room with computers to practice your skills if necessary. However, they really need to update the facility and the parking lot for more room and better parking.
