Miranda did such an amazing job altering my wedding dress! I ordered it from a site I’ve used before with success, put my exact measurements in, and it came in WAY too big.

After multiple attempts trying to find someone to alter my wedding dress (multiple people just straight up said NO - hard pass), I found Miranda’s Tailor Shop. The initial call she asked when my wedding was and worked out the perfect timeline.

She was responsive, ready to get it done, and easy to work with. The shop feels like something out of Harry Potter, small but exactly what you need (except for the wand).

She basically had a wand, though. With an initial sizing appointment, just one touch up appointment, and then a final try-on appointment, it was a perfect fit. Not only did she take the dress in at all the right spots, she added touches like a bustle (buttons and thread loops to take the wedding train up for the reception (which I didn’t even know was a thing - and she taught me how to use it)). It was perfect and seamless from the ceremony to reception. I was so worried, when my final fitting happened, I just about cried with how happy I was with the look. I also definitely hugged her too many times I was so happy! She let me hug her a bunch lol. Great sport! I just wish I had a before photo to show the dramatic difference from start to finish.

My only issue was payments are cash or check only. It’s not a big deal but it’s good to keep that in mind. She was even great understanding I didn’t have my checkbook, and even though there’s a big sign on the counter detailing that, I obviously was oblivious. She didn’t make me feel bad about my blunder and was fine with waiting for me to come back later with my payment (dress given after payment).

I’m not one to give a negative review, but in this case I have to. Even though she’s 5 min from my house I’ll drive the distance to go to a different tailor. I dropped off 5 pieces to her 4 weeks prior to a wedding. I was told I would receive a call once it was ready; luckily I called her to ask 2 days before the wedding if it was ready, and I learned she was leaving to go to Albania so I picked my outfits up in time the night before the wedding . Which I paid for in full. When we arrived to the hotel that night before the wedding, I realized she didn’t return the top to one of my outfits and there were still pins in place to other outfits so she never even tailored them! The worst ever!...
