This store has the WORSE staff EVER. These assholes are the most annoying and rude individuals I have ever seen. They have an attitude 24/7. I'd rather pay a few more dollars at the Wal-Mart next door than to buy from this place again. Now to my story.
I walked in a few weeks after the release of the new Nintendo Wii U Deluxe and asked about the waiting list. I would have purchased this item at another department store like Wal-Mart or Target but I had a trade in balance of over $200. The scruffy gentleman I spoke with told me that they had one left in the back. I told him I would be back tomorrow morning because I did not have the cash on me at the time. I come back in the morning and the apparent "manager" was there. I told him what his employee had told me the night before and he says, "They're all sold, won't have them back in for 3-4 months." I asked him if he could check in the back just in case and he said no. I asked him why he couldn't check and he says, "They're are so many boxes back there and I'd rather not go opening them up for no reason." I told him not to worry about it. I drove to the Gamestop at Tennessee Plaza, Midlothian, VA (at Hull St Road and Route 288) and the lady there was glad to assist me in ordering my brand new Nintendo Wii U Deluxe and it arrived at my home 5 days later. We canceled our Chucky Cheese plans and me being the gamer dad I am decided we would buy him a game for his birthday and chill at home together. The assistant manager (I believe his name is Glen) was super friendly and helped my son find a game that he would enjoy. We talked about how it was my sons birthday and that he was sick so we decided to come to Gamestop and buy him a game. At the end of our visit Glen went above and beyond by giving my son a Batman Action Figure! He said he saw my sons “BatBear” (a stuffed Batman bear) which he had carried into the store with him and figured my boy was a fan! I work in an industry where customer service is paramount and to have my son receive such an awesome shopping experience meant the world to me, and him both! Waited in the store for 20 minutes without assistance or even acknowledgment when I walked into the store. Even after sitting there for 20 minutes, the second employee ignored my existence and took the male customer that came in 20 minutes later instead of helping me with my purchase. Unacceptable experience. Felt very unprofessional as a woman carrying a newborn like I wasn’t accepted in the store as a normal customer. Or if the employees thought I was with the male in front of me just because we were the same race. Regardless, no customer deserves to be treated in such manner.
