I am visiting Wyoming from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Yesterday, I stopped by Town & Country Supermarket to grab some beer after reading some nice reviews online. But when I got to the register, the cashier refused to ring me up. She came up with a million different reasons why she couldn’t allow me to purchase the beer, despite me being 31 years old and well above the legal drinking age. Luckily, I was able to capture the last bit of our interaction on camera….And in the video, you can CLEARLY see that despite all their best efforts, the staff was extremely upset that they had to follow basic laws and provide me service. We went back and forth for an absurd amount of time to no avail. The cashier continued to refuse service to me, and wouldn’t even look at my ID to verify my age. Eventually, the cashier called up her manager…and her manager ALSO refused to sell to me. After spending even more time going back and forth with the manager, she finally went to speak to the owner. Low and behold, the owner told her that as long as I am over 21, I can purchase the beer (what a concept, right?). I was originally inclined to just brush past the level of unprofessionalism I experienced from the cashier - as she was young, and from her demeanor and disposition, seemingly hated her job. But when the manager arrived, I could see that she was a professional, level-headed woman who would certainly understand basic civil and liquor laws. So when the manager also refused to provide service to me, I instantly realized that this ran deeper than a single, disgruntled employee. I watched several other patrons make their purchases without issue, and the ONLY difference between me and the other customers was the fact that they were white and I was Black. I was completely taken aback by the treatment, because all my other experiences in Cheyenne were extremely warm and pleasant. And to be completely honest, I’ve experienced VERY few incidences of blatant racism in my entire LIFETIME…so I was beyond surprised and offended by the way I was received by the employees and management at Town & Country. After being blatantly disrespected and treated like a circus clown at this establishment for so much time, I am leaving Cheyenne feeling extremely insulted and offended. You would have thought that I walked into a Klan meeting, the way the cashier reacted when the manager told her that the owner was allowing me to make the purchase [SEE VIDEO ATTACHED]. And I STILL can’t believe that things had to escalate to the OWNER of the business in order to receive basic, equal treatment of the law…I just wanted to buy some beer. And after all of that, I still never received even the most basic “I’m sorry”, “Our apologies”, or any semblance of remorse for the type of treatment that I received during my time at Town & Country. It’s pretty disgusting to know that people are still this way in 2023….I’m absolutely certain that the only response I’ll receive to this Google Review is “Thank you for your review”…but I promise I will make it my absolute mission to get this story to the public and to the masses. It is NOT acceptable to treat people in this horrific manner.

Town and Country has an immense selection of beer wine, and spirits. I didn't enjoy my time here because they asked Hercules, my pug, to leave. I found the act to be hypocritical as this establishment produced a video advertisement featuring a golden retriever frolicking through the store. I believe this establishment has a deteriorated culture and are out of touch with their founding principles.

This place is massive with all type liquors and beers. With friendly staff and came up to me and ask if I need help. I was because, I got lost in the process. $9.39 on a craft beers, not bad at all.

How can anyone knock an establishment that is that big, with that many options to get hammered and some of the best prices on liquor around? Probably only Helen Keller would be my guess, and that because they don't carry blah blah ugh blah grunt moan smack head blah blah. Which actually surprises me cuz they seem to have everything else. The only reason I can't give them a 5 star is because they don't have a drive thru for the drunk on the go. They do have slushies, though. And they close too early for the last minute last call take home liquor. Otherwise, like my friend Helen said, "Blah blah blah grunt ugh blah." That's right Helen they are pretty awesome when it comes to getting wasted. Plus, soda is at...
