Read moreThere are so many problems with The Residences at The St Regis. It's so surprising to me this is part of the St Regis brand. From the front parking lot being extremely small and tight, to the service I've received. I've lived here for 3 years and recently moved out. In the 3 years, there was a major flood due to the negligence of the engineer crew that resulted in the near total loss of multiple condos amongst multiple floors. A week doesn't go by without an elevator breaking down, resulting in extremely long wait times for an elevator. The elevators themselves always smell like dog urine. Each elevator interior is scratched up or dented. The ceiling tiles in the elevators are all missing or damaged. When I sold my condo in this building, the amount of mechanic liens on the developer almost made my sale not go through. There are unpaid balances to vendors around $3m that are showing as a responsibility to the unit owners as well, since the developer nor the association were willing to provide an indemnification. When I first moved into this building in 2022, there were very inexperienced people working at the front desk, where it was obvious they had no experience in luxury hospitality industry. Although recently the staff is a bit better, they still need work. The only reason why I gave this review 2 stars rather than 1 is due to the General Manager Frederick, who was always extremely kind and helpful during my time I resided here, as well as the valet manager Yazen and his team who always put a smile on my face every morning before leaving. This building was designed wrong, there are too many design flaws such as the parking lot and the fact there's always mechanical break downs. There needs to be something done about all of that to justify such a high dollar per sq foot...
Read moreI ACTUALLY STAYED HERE, carefully check their reviews and you will quickly notice most people who have reviewed this hotel didn't stay here. I spend around 75-100 nights a year in St. Regis, JW, Ritz, Renaissance properties. My trip to Chicago was days after staying at the King George in Athens which may be why this stay was so disappointing. The checkin process was nothing special, but also nothing to write home about either. No acknowledgement of status, but I've become accustom to that over the last few years as most front desk staff cannot even correctly answer the qualifications for each level. My room was clean, and had basic amenities however it did feel small compared to other comparable properties. Where my trip started going off thr rails was when I went to the gym, and realized I was not going to get a good workout in the pint size space. It also would help if there would have been towels available which look like they had been forgotten. When I went to bed that night I notice some how my bed was missing the top sheet, to tired to do anything about it I just went to bed. Then the fun began when I went to breakfast the next morning and was surprised to find out it wasnt included with my elite status. For a thousand dollars night you think a couple of scrambled eggs wouldn't break the bank. (Yes, I pay with my own money, no pts and Corporate card were harmed during my stay) lesson learn I will book future stays here with my Amex Plat card so i get benefits. Though it seems backwards Amex has better recognition then bonvoy Titanium status. For the price I expected a more luxury feel, and for twice the money of thr JW I was left wanting more. 3 stars deducted for the small gym, missing sheet,...
