SECOND UPDATE- DANIELLE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! SHE TRULY CARES ABOUT HER CUSTOMERS and is amazing at what she does. The item that had been lost due to a double system change was replaced. I understand stuff happens. I get that, and she made the whole situation much better and made me feel like i mattered and that i wasn't just an oh well. Danielle made me feel much better about returning and pawning my items there again. I most definitely will the next time I need a loan, I won't hesitate to go and get a loan from her store. Knowing I'm a valued customer and will be taken care of and my item will be safe. Again, thank you Danielle you truly are an amazing business owner, and value your customers and your businesses reputation. That is so rare in businesses these days ! You see people where others see dollar signs and nothing else.
FIRST Up Date - No more than 15 mins had my review been up the owner Danielle called me and made me feel so much better about the situation and is replacing my item at no cost to me. We'll update again when my item is replaced. I have to say I've never had an Owen reach out as quickly as Danielle did. Now that's an owner who cares about their business and its reputation. I've been pawning stuff here for years. I went in on April 1st to push over my pawn ticket for another 4 months it was the last day for my ten day grace period instead of pushing it over I was told the last was the 31st of March but the pawn ticket said the 1st of April. They then told me I'd have to buy back my item I didn't have the cash right then so I left and returned April 3rd to buy it back only to be told they had COMPLETELY LOST MY ITEM! ID BEEN PUSHING IT OVER AND THEY NEVER EVEN HAD IT FOR GOD KNOWS HOW LONG! TRIED TELLING ME MY PAWN TICKET WAS 9 MONTHS OLD. HONESTLY SEEMED LIKE A BUNCH OF BS. I WILL NEVER PAWN MY STUFF HERE EVER AGAIN! Also, one reviewer said they offer three DVDs in exchange for a positive review. I didnât get that offer personally (though Iâm sure my response to the workerâs lowball offer didnât make him feel the need to offer me anythingâI wasnât very nice in my reply).
In any event, I didnât see direct evidence of this, but itâs worth noting that 23 of their 69 total reviews are from people who appear to have only ever reviewed this one business. Pretty convenient, right? Itâs unlikely that 23 separate people just happened to create Google accounts for the first time to praise this one pawn shop.
More likely, these are bored employees trying to score points with the owner, or people accepting that â3 DVDâ offer in exchange for a fake positive review. Either way, if thatâs true, this pawn shop is a nuisance and a nightmare for the people of Chico.

I stopped in to purchase some gold bullion and expected a professional experience. Unfortunately, it felt more like a guessing game than a legitimate gold transaction. After waiting about five minutes, the owner arrived and seemed unsure about basic testing procedures. She mentioned that âthe guys would jump in if she was doing something wrong,â which didnât inspire much confidenceâespecially when weâre talking about thousands of dollars in gold.
The tests she performed were inconsistent, the scale was a cheap model that didnât even read to the thousandth of a gram (critical for verifying authenticity), and the measurements were off by more than what any genuine coin should vary. When I asked about the testing machine, she admitted she didnât really know how to use it.
For someone dealing in gold, that level of uncertainty and lack of precision is unacceptable. The only positive note was that she offered about $100 over spot, which is fair pricing, but the tools and knowledge were far below professional standards.

Their customer service skills is off the Richter scale. Super super polite they gave me a pawn what I asked for with no questions asked They wasn't trying to bargain or haggle me down. I just wanted to let people know that there is good people in this world and one of the employees name was Cody. He should be running a business of his own because his customer service skills it's out of this world. So I just want to say thank you Cody for everything. You're awesome!
