Our heat stopped working two days before the temperature was to drop below freezing. After spending two days troubleshooting and replacing the thermostat, we discovered a blown fuse and replaced it. It blew again. And again. Finally, with temperatures dropping fast, we admitted defeat and called Sleeping Giant. They told us that they were pretty busy with everyone preparing for the freeze and that they would try to make it out to us that same day, but in all honesty, it most likely would be in the morning. Since it was already nearing noon when we called, we couldn't really fault them for that. Then we got back to troubleshooting. While working on the outside unit, I ran to grab a wrench and was surprised to run into Crosby, the HVAC technician from Sleeping Giant. He had managed to fit us into his schedule after all. Once I gave him the run down of everything we'd already tried and brought him to speed on where we were now, he was able to quickly discern the problem (we were so close!) and fix it in no time! We definitely recommend Sleeping Giant to anyone in the area who may need their expertise. They also offer a very reasonable yearly maintenance plan, which I think we are going to add in order to avoid any additional issues in the future....

Sleeping Giant came out for our routine summer maintenance, and we’re so glad they did! During the visit, Albert noticed our main unit was running much louder than it should. After a thorough check, he discovered the compressor was close to going out. We chose to have the part replaced, and now the unit sounds so much better—quiet, cool, and keeping us comfortable for the summer!

Albert was fantastic—super kind, respectful, and took the time to explain everything about our units in a way we could understand. It was a great experience from start to finish.

Side note: Sleeping Giant also takes care of our mom’s home. Last year, they found her coils were going bad. Blake and the team were amazing with her—patient, thoughtful, and only did what was absolutely necessary. One unit was replaced, and one coil repaired. We were so grateful for the honest and compassionate service they provided her.

Today was our first experience with Sleeping Giant Heating and Cooling. It was extremely pleasant. We called them out to get a second opinion about our "broken" unit. (Read my review of Skeltons Heating and Cooling). Sleeping Giant's technician Matt Grommes was extremely friendly as soon as he got out of the van. He walked up, took the panel off of my unit and said there's your problem. Another technician had wired up the capacitor wrong. He immediately rewired it correctly and started my unit up. Everything was in working order. Then he inspected my duct work and air handler and checked my freon levels. He was VERY PROFESSIONAL and VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. Great experience.
