I arrived to pick up my load around 1:45pm. The information given to me by dispatch indicated the load would be ready between 1:00pm-4:pm. I was loaded and had paperwork signed at 2:20am. I was there almost 13 hours. I was compensated 10 hrs of detention which is great, but it is nonsense to be at any shipper/receiver that long! Pack a lunch and dinner and be prepared to take a 10 hour break whether you're here that long or not. Best thing to do when you arrive is to park in the lot with all the other trucks then check in. You are going to park there anyway while you're waiting for a door! Make sure trailer is clean and they ask you to slide tandems! There is a Pilot nearby and a Domino's.
