Chipley Hardware — Local services in Chipley

Don't shop here a lot anyway but based on location maybe 2-3 times a year, even less now. Typically they seem to be just a touch busier than what their staff for which was the case today. To begin I guess I should start with I'd placed an order a week ago I was told when the order was arrive which is all good so like I had told them that day I may not be there the day it arrives due to work so I'll get there just as soon as I can possibly get there during business hours. So anyway I get off work early give them a call to confirm that my order has arrived it was clear pretty early that the guy just wasn't going to go look and see if my order had arrived. So rather than push the issue after being told that hey if they told you'd be here at that time this it always shows up okay whatever so I'll just take the 20-minute drive and take the chance. Get there there's one customer there one employee that I see the customers at the counter speaking with the with another customer across the room just old friends whatever so you know whatever you know I just kind of stood back and waited on them to finish at some point before they finish the employee looked at me and kind of nodded like hey what's up so I let him know I was there to pick up an order I placed a week ago and was told over the phone that more than likely it should be there so he says oh you need to wait on Alberto with his arm in a sling okay great so I guess I'll wait on Alberto who I don't know with his arm and a sling so I'm looking for a guy with his arm in a sling 10 minutes later 15 minutes later 20 minutes later after several new customers and came in and been waited on by the first employee still no Alberto with his arm in a sling. Long story even shorter I'm not going to beg anyone to take my money it's way too hard to come by and materials are too expensive so I spent a little gas and a little time learn my lesson my advice is if you're in any sort of a hurry I certainly wouldn't stop here especially if I didn't have at least a half...

If I could put 0 stars I would. We have never had any issues with this store before today. I called 15 minutes before closing asking if they would stay open because my husband was driving from Graceville and the gentleman had an attitude and said ya we close at 4. I said I understand that but he will be right at the time you are closing and I want to make sure you would wait until he gets there he is on the way. He said ya whatever I then went to ask again so he is not wasting his time driving, 'will you still be there' and he said yes. My husband showed up 4 minutes past closing and the gentleman was inside telling him ya sorry we are closed. My husband then went to explain that I called and he would wait and he kept arguing telling him I close at 4 can't help you. It is sad for a small town to not have the customer service that it should have. If you are not willing to stay open please just tell me no sorry we will be closed so we did not have to waste a trip to drive there. Very disappointed and it made me lose a little faith in people, with everything our world has been going through we as a people should stickk together and Chipley Hardware just isn't on that same...

All the guys are extremely helpful. They will help you find whatever your looking for as soon as you walk in the door. If you have any questions about do-it-yourself projects one of them will know the answer for you. They are very comparable pricing, a little more expensive than Walmart on some stuff, cheaper on others. We need to support this local business as much as possible to keep them in business so we can have a local store instead of having to drive an HR to another...
