Definitely not worth the time if you are looking to purchase anything. Shops like this are part of the scalping problem in trading card games currently, with newly released products at extremely inflated prices that are above average market price. There are many online options available that will offer you a more correct price on any product that you may find here. Editing this now before the owner comments: "Also bold of you to assume we get everything at distributor pricing, we sometimes buy at full retail from other reputable stores and resale for slim margins just to have the products for our community." This is a direct quote from a response to an older review. A 200% markup is not slim, nor does it help get any products into your communities hands when you take them from other local stores. This is EXACTLY what scalpers do.......... Just trying to educate the public, and those who may need it. Edit 2: If you made it this far, and you haven't read the business's reply, take a moment to read it and it will further validate this review. The shining fates ETB that is mentioned in the reply was quoted to me for $150, which again, is a scalping price, but it doesn't end there. Another prime example is the 25th Anniversary Oversized Card Binders. Your price is $30, which an employee verified. You can buy them at any Pokemon selling retailer for $10 or less each. Also, you are quick to call out other "Scalpers" but anyone scalping knows that a card shop is going to have markup, so they aren't really shopping there. Not that it matters but, I want to collect shining fates un-opened products, not scalp. Hence why I went to a card shop looking to spend the normal markup... and also why a 200% increase has made me realize that this business is NOT good for the TCG community and people should be warned before...

Unsurprisingly, you can't be my skin color and you gotta look like you don't shower to run into an EDH night at Oblivion it seems. The atmosphere was very uncomfortable and when asking a judge question I got looked at with the face of " You're that dude that says he knows how to play lol ".
When I traded some stuff in for store credit I got treated like " You're not going to get much for this.. " which was obvious, I just wanted to get a drink and wasn't necessarily going to waste dude's time with anything else.
The community sucks, people chanting on making " homebrews " or trying to ridicule you by " making " a deck in front of you, I played a common theme in a deck and got ruled out as a " Netdecker " all night by my one opponent due to my deck and the cards I have when I have friends and I've searched up some cards here and there to make what I have and have had it for quite sometime now, I didn't show up to just be a jerk, but I also realized that I could've made a deck right then and there and still been ruled out as someone who " Doesn't know MTG " when I've been playing for 10yrs now. I came from a long day of work and didn't even expect to show to the shop today and I myself knows I played awful last night.
I would've truthfully expected a better community and at the least less rude people. But I couldnt expect more from a group of people who chant who's " the best at the table " and " who can homebrew ". But run a commander uncorrelated to the colors of their deck and start testing you like you're stupid so you treat them like a completely new player and let them play their illegal deck.
Sucks that's the smiles and faces I get there feel fake. Crappy card...
Read moreOblivion initially seemed like a decent shop, but the staff attitude leaned more condescending than welcoming. The singles selection is solid, though sealed products are typically marked up around 30% above market something many local shops justify as âpaying market.â In practice, much of that inventory comes from distributor channels, employee resales, or regulars trading in below market for store credit, which makes the pricing strategy feel more like gouging than necessity.
A return visit left an even worse impression. Cards were sold without proper protection no top loaders, and in some cases, no penny sleeves at all. On top of that, the focus seemed more on pushy sales tactics and moving inventory than on building a quality customer experience. Management, which appears relatively young, seems to believe that sheer volume of product can make up for poor service and customer retention practices. The result is a transactional, low-value experience that doesnât prioritize customers or community, the key part that makes a card shop, a game store..
For better options in Tampa and to be treated like a human, consider Sunshine Games, Armada Games, Emerald City, Black Flag Gaming, Gamers Command, or Toy City, M&M where you aren't isolated for not being a rip and shipper :)
I've been to nearly every card shop in the Tampa / ST Pete and surrounding areas and they do have a good selection of Singles and are fair with conditioning, so there is a positive to take away there. Usually with card shops I test the waters with customer service before I drop big money on sealed, if you're going to pay above market for sealed, do it somewhere you atleast feel like a friend, not a number for the "Getting Rich off Pokemon Card...
