The Cheese Traveler — Local services in City of Albany

We are traveling from Boston to Kingston ontario and stopped off in Albany to find a place for lunch. I noticed this cute little cheese shop with a sign outside advertising organic speciality foods(this definitely drew me in!) we went inside and were greeted by Eric, who went above and beyond explaining the different cheeses to us and giving us samples (yum!) he put together a delicious cheese and meat platter that also included crostini and jam. It tasted amazing! Everything from the food, the tastes, the atmosphere and the service made me feel like I was on a mini vacation in Europe. I hesitate to leave a review out of fear of them becoming too popular. They are hands down, a diamond in the rough. Great selection of cheese and charcuterie with an impressively niche variety of beer from around the world. They have wine as well but I've never been inclined with the quality beer variety. The sandwich menu changes up occasionally and all makes for a gourmet experience you're unlikely to forget. I never met the old owner, but the new owner has a personality that lends an air of delightful mystery to the dishes and the offerings. Wow!!! Just wow!!! The selection of cheese and meats here is simply stunning, but beyond that the owner will tell you about anything things your interested in learning about and has a very deep knowledge of the products on offer. I was putting together a cheese board and charcuterie platter for my students to enjoy while there were presentation during the class. I had planned to set everything up, but without asked she offered to arrange everything on platters for me. Everything was amazing, and I will be going back here as often as I can...
