Only giving them 1 star because the 0 they deserve isn’t an option! I’m typically not one to put a business on blast publicly for bad service or shady business practices but I would hate to see anyone deal with the service and issues I encountered at Cell Phones For Less on James St in Syracuse. FEEL FREE TO SHARE THIS POST TO YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS, IT VERY WELL MAY SAVE THEM THE B.S I JUST HAD TO DEAL WITH THERE ... So After leaving my iPhone 6s for a screen replacement, it took dropping it back for several hours each time.... 3 MORE times to address an issue / additional damage to my phone which their technician caused, I can’t begin to express how much I would highly NOT Recommend for anyone to take your phone there for any repair. After the girls at the counter making false excuses about the issue they caused, 7-8 calls to speak with the owner over a 2-3 week period with detailed messages left for him, and NOT ONE CALL WAS RETURNED FROM THE OWNER ... I finally was able to speak with him directly to try to rectify the situation but only because he happened to be the one to answer the stores phone. I’m now left with an iPhone 6s with no fingerprint Id Capability because they use cheap quality parts from China which shouldn’t be used in an apple device are the “top quality parts...😂😂😂” their company uses for repairs. Their technician broke my home button / finger print scanner while replacing the screen which also had several issues only working 75% of the time before I would have to restart my phone. I Was given the run around for 5-6 weeks, all for him to offer to rectify the situation by selling me a used phone, that was more expensive than it is offered for sale brand new from Apple... because he said he would give me a “great deal on it” because of the issues / damage they caused and cannot fix .... wait... a used iPhone at a “great deal” for more than Apple would sell it new for with no contract and a warranty? I would highly recommend to any of my family and friends to never do business with any of their stores, Destiny USA, James St, Or Shop City Plaza. Read moreI have used cell phones for less on two occasions. One turned out well and the other was a complete disaster. I'll start with the good news. My son broke the screen on his cell phone and we took it to cell phones for less to have it replaced, which it was, and everything was fine. About 2 months later my daughter accidentally broke the screen on one of our I pads. Since I had a good experience with cell phones for less the first time, I decided to take the I pad there as well. It was a $100 repair. I picked the I pad up the next day and we brought it home. From the moment we brought it home, it didn't work properly. When you tried to open an app the screen would not respond or it would open an app that was not the one you had pressed on. After several attempts to make it work we put it aside and decided we would have to return it to Cell Phones for Less as it was under "warranty" for 30 days. I called the next day and explained the situation and they said to bring it in. When I brought it in, I showed the employee the issue and she pointed out a hairline crack in the screen which I hadn't even noticed. I explained that the crack must have been there when we brought it home as it never worked with the new screen. She informed me that it was a physical defect and because it was under "warranty" she would only charge me $80 to fix it this time. I explained that we hadn't been able to get it to work from the moment we brought it home so the crack must have been in there when brought it home. She insisted that someone broke it and it would cost another $80 to fix it. Needless to say I walked out with $100 down the drain and a still broken I pad. I went in yest afternoon thinking I had absolutely no hope of my phone working again bc my lil one had messed it up pretty bad in the TWO SECONDS I turned my head😣 Alll of her pics since birth were on there and obv pretty much everything else important, but was mainly really upset about the pics. I just walked in (to an immaculate store👌)and spoke w Musa I think his name was, who told me it should be fine, and would prob take 1 hr. I was beyond thrilled to hear it would prob be ok, but then I realized I had an issue w time, and kinda just was goin over it in my head, out loud I guess lol..and he said "hold on" and went back and asked the technician, came back and said "like 20 mins?"😊 Awesome!! Thanked the amazing tech (Jimmy I think bc I just called and asked who all was working so I would know names) when he walked out from behind after fixing it and he was super nice w a big smile and said no problem. Also asked a buncha questions about a new plan while waiting, and Musa was super helpful. During the end of my visit, I think her name's Jasmine was soo sweet and just amazing w my lil girl, laughing and playing. So that's my novel, just really cannot believe it was so quick and easy, and am def goin back again!! Thank you all!! Hope I got the names...
