Came here to get my first car based on the reviews and I’m here to tell you all of the positive reviews are forced to be written by the general manager Jean Carlos. I made sure to save my review until after driving my purchased car for at least a week.
After noticing a broken light, Jean Carlos sent me to their mechanic to have it fixed but they installed a higher voltage when needed because the next day the car was dead. After going to my own mechanic, I was told they installed a company car starter instead of a customer starter for my car. After insisting that there was something wrong with my car, they kept putting the blame on me (e.g. I left my light on, the storm affected the car, the battery’s completely fine). Please keep in mind that they will say anything to take the blame away from themselves.
When going to this dealership please take the time to thoroughly look at the car you’re interested in, test drive it, ask for a diagnosis, all of that. Because they can stamp a NYS inspection sticker on your car when it doesn’t deserve it (and they’re fine with selling you a dangerous car). Lastly, they don’t offer a warranty after your purchase so once you sign those papers, you’re on your own.
The car that i purchased had a blown fuse, which they failed to inform me. When I asked them to fix this issue, it lead to my car dying the next day. After having another mechanic look at my car, I was told that Yonkers autoland installed a company starter, instead of a customer starter for my car. Due to the fact that they failed to assist me from Friday-Tuesday, I started telling customers on the property about my experience as I was waiting for the electrician to arrive. The manager called the police, refused to service my car anymore and is currently going under an investigation in relation to the dead car they sold me. Please save your TIME and money by going to a real dealership that offers warranties and aren’t rushing you throughout the process.
My car literally died on me while driving back to YonkersAutoland on South Broadway. Please...
Read moreBeware of this one! I found a car I was interested in on their site. Called ahead to check availability and to confirm pricing. Took off work and showed up with cash in hand to inspect and then purchase the vehicle. When I walked into the office, the first thing the manager said was "I can't sell this car for cash, it has to be financed". I thought it was a joke, but he explained that he would lose money on the car if he sold it for cash. He needed to finance it to make any money. I was stunned. I've been buying cars for well over five decades and have never seen anyone turn down cash. Then why not just raise the price? So I left with my cash and without the car. Upon reflection, this is obviously a "bait and switch". If they needed more money to make a profit on the car, they should advertise a higher price...simple economics. Or at the very least, they should advertise the car as "finance only". But they DON'T raise the sticker price -- and they DON'T advertise the car as "finance only" -- because they want people to come in and then attempt to convince them into financing the car. And I can just imagine the sort of financing terms they would employ! Sorry -- I'm not going to finance a 14-year old vehicle. I won't be back.
REVISION: I was a little hot when I wrote my review. I recently moved here from Texas, and in Texas cash is king. I should consider the fact that things may be different in New York. As I researched online, I've seen that this might be a common practice here. And, of course, they SHOULDN'T be forced to sell to me and they SHOULD be allowed to set their own parameters. So accordingly, I will adjust my rating from 1 to 3. It's just a 3 because they ought to put "Finance Only" in any advertising for the car to prevent people from wasting valuable time. Still not going to finance a 14-year old car, but maybe I'll come back some day and finance...
Read moreI'm very happy with my SUV now (first time I ever bought from a dealership). Got it quick, they said it would be ready in 3 days but it wasn't washed or detailed (no detailer at the moment they said) and I drove off with an almost flat tire, almost no gas, and a screeching sound (belt) and AC hum, they said they had already fixed but they didn't. Sloppy paperwork and was given faded copies of warranty, and a prep fee and something else that made no sense. Do your research and ask questions about it. They took off a few dollars for the prep fee after I asked them to for not getting the car detailed or cleaned as part of its preparation. After 2 times returning the car for that same belt and AC problem, they finally did the job but also got me a ticket for alternate side of the street parking the last time I dropped the car off (which was supposed to be getting serviced that day. since I dropped it off the day before). They covered the cost, but... Dayum!!! The car was no lemon, but I was just a little disappointed overall with the customer service. The salesman were very friendly and helpful. If you call and ask for the manager, they will tell you he's not there when he's sitting right there on the couch. To say the least, the manager was nice also. They did work out all the problems and issues at the end, but there was a lot of mishaps and too much back and forth and me paying for cabs and taking buses just to get my car worked on for the third time when it should've been done right the first time--otherwise, I would have given...
