Food & my drink was excellent. Very good. The first guy was very friendly & brought water for my dog & a disposable container for him to eat ot of. I really appreciated that. At first the waitress didn't want to serve me with my service dog. She was rude & ignorant. She thought that I had to have an actual service animal license. No, I don't. The only thing that I have to have is his rabies vaccination tag & his NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Dog License. No Federal, state, or local government agencies issue service dog licenses. Private companies do. However, they're not required under current ADA laws. I'm hard of hearing. I need hearing aids but can't get them. So, my service dog alerts me to noises I don't hear. I also suffer from panic attacks occasionally. Petting & holding him helps to calm me down. So, unfortunately I had to call Yonkers Police on this Diner. I told them I wasn't going anywhere. They had to serve me. I got on Facebook live & started recording so that I'd have evidence in case I needed it. I would've sued them in federal court for discrimination & violating my rights. Anyhow, the police came & they were very polite. I explained the situation to them. They asked me what I wanted them to do. I said please enforce the law officers. They went & said something to management. Then left without saying anything else to me. Except knocking on the window behind me to let me know everything was cool. I know the police couldn't have physically forced them to serve me. They may have strongly suggested that they serve me or face a lawsuit. Whatever happened it worked. The manager came & served me. He was very friendly. I ordered Lucky a plain hamburger without the bun. I ordered fries & a philly sandwich. I ordered a screwdriver that tasted very good. I got a slight buzz. Would've got a second one if I hadn't gone through all the hassle. Anyhow, the manager served Lucky & I efficiently delicious fresh food. I was pleased with his service. Maybe he was trying to kiss my ass. I don't know. Maybe not. But, I always tip 20% when service is good. I gave him $6.00 I heard the waitress in the background complaining. If she'd acted right in the beginning it could've...
Read moreAs a reviewer, I’ve driven past countless diners, but Broadway Diner on South Broadway in Yonkers is one of those places that just hypnotizes you as you drive by. The classic diner vibe practically pulls you in, and there’s no way I was going to resist the urge to stop for breakfast.
One of the standout items on the breakfast menu is the Classic Eggs Benedict. It’s everything you want in a morning meal—two perfectly poached eggs perched on top of a toasted English muffin, generously topped with Canadian bacon and smothered in creamy hollandaise sauce. The eggs were cooked just right, with a yolk that was rich and velvety, blending beautifully with the sauce. It came with a side of crispy home fries that were seasoned to perfection, adding that extra bit of comfort to the plate. It’s the kind of breakfast that sets the tone for a great day.
The diner itself has that nostalgic charm, with cozy booths and friendly service that makes you feel right at home. The staff is attentive without being overbearing, ensuring your coffee cup stays full and your meal is just as you like it.
If I had to offer a minimal complaint, it would be that the menu is fairly standard for a diner—no big surprises or adventurous options. But honestly, that’s part of its charm. Sometimes you just want a good, reliable breakfast, and Broadway Diner delivers exactly that.
Overall, Broadway Diner is a spot you can’t drive past without stopping in. It’s a classic diner experience with solid food and a welcoming atmosphere, making it a must-visit if you’re in Yonkers and craving a...
Read moreThe food & my drink was excellent. I had my service dog with me & the waitress refused to serve me. She thought that Lucky had to have an actual service animal license or paperwork. That's not how the ADA law works though. NO government agencies at the local, state, or federal level issue service dog licenses. Private companies do. However, they are NOT required by law. The ONLY thing a service dog has to have is a rabies vaccination tag & a regular dog license issued by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. I am allowed by law to take my service dog ANYWHERE the public can go. A place of business can ask what I need a service animal for. They cannot however by law ask for a performance of any task. Anyhow, after the waitress refused to serve me I asked to speak with the manager. He said the same thing. Then I spoke with the owner that just happened to be there. She refused to serve me as well. At that point I informed them that I wasn't going anywhere & I called Yonkers Police. The police officers were polite. I informed them of the situation at hand & asked them to enforce the law. They went & spoke with management & solved my issue. I was recording the whole interaction on Facebook live at the time. Not because I thought the police wouldn't do there job. But, because I was going to use it as evidence if necessary in federal court. The manager came & served me & did a good job doing so. I gave him a 20% tip because he was polite &...
