Well the experience has been quite disappointing. We ordered three biryanis - Chicken, Mutton & Fish.. and it’s our first time.
Tip#1 - when you are trying a restaurant for the first time order one of their popular item to try it out.
Well in case we were hungry so ended up ordering little bit more than needed surely based on reviews I read. Everyone had to say just good or great.. so we ordered it.
Ordered by calling at ~11:40 on Sat morning & they told they will have the food ready by 1. Which is a lot of time in my opinion.. anyways thought again based on reviews expecting food to be great so thought worth waiting.
Anyways get to the restaurant by 12:55.. Food isn’t ready & asked to wait for 10 mins. Fine. After 15 mins.. nobody is there to check on the food.. so rang the bell to get attention and they asked us to wait 2 more mins.. rushed and got the food around 1:20..
Hungry and Hangry enough… Food is a disaster. Biryani is not made that kind of rice.. for sure as it didn’t seem basmati & the rice was pretty much onion tomato base mixed with rice.. chicken was worst. Mutton was Ok. Fish was relatively better of the three.
I truly regret driving 45 mins round trip to what I thought discovered a good restaurant to have a disappointing and feeling of lost money on. Worst part is I ended up throwing food which I hate to do.. but couldn’t take it.
Only intent of writing this elaborate review is to make others cautious of at-least not ordering Biryani. Other stuff I didn’t try so I don’t have anything to...
Read moreFirst time and will never return. Placed an order on Grubhub at 11:15 am. I was sent a text and an email confirming my order and that it was going to be ready between 11:35 and 11:45. I waited 10 minutes at work before leaving to pickup my food, since it was a 20 minute drive. got there at 11:48 am and they haven't even noticed an order come thru. They asked for 5 to 6 minutes to get it ready. 15 minutes later I was still waiting for my order to come out. my half hour lunch became a one hour just between the round trip and the waiting time. That did not include the time it took me to eat once I was back at the office. No consideration for workers in their lunch break, not even an apology. The worst? the food wasn't worth it. The Chicken was undercooked, naan was nothing like a traditional well made naan bread. The fact that they open at 11:00 am everyday DOESN'T necessarily mean the food its ready at that time they just starting to cook most likely and don't make the mistake of rushing them because then you will eat...
Read moreOrdered the chicken curry lunch box and picked up within 45 mins. It came with a portion of chicken curry, chopped and sautéed red vegetables (I think it may have been beets), fluffy rice, moru curry (turmeric-infused buttermilk), mango pickle, fish curry, and a gulab jamun. (I substituted the default kingfish curry for "malabar fish curry" with salmon pieces instead - was blown away by its taste!). Everything was fresh and flavorful! I especially loved the fluffy rice, the moru curry, the spiciness of the chicken curry, and most of all, the flavor profile of the malabar fish curry! Would definitely come back and buy this...
