Worst company I’ve ever had to deal with. Installed brand a/c new unit and already not working properly 3 months in and after a year wanting to charge us more money to work on it. This guy is a complete joke
Actually, you came out twice last summer. The new unit was put in April 2024. We called in June because the unit would keep running and would not cool properly. You came out 6/26 and after being there for hours you had came to the conclusion that we needed “soffit vents”. We installed those and they made absolutely zero difference. You were called back out 7/11 and at that time you had said we were a little low on Freon. With you being a professional, I do not know how this wasn’t alarming to you that it would require Freon after being newly installed. To me, if a brand new unit was already low on Freon I would Probably go ahead and see what was causing the brand new unit to become low that quickly. To my knowledge, that was not done. After the small amount of Freon was put in the unit worked ok for the remainder of the summer. Now that it’s getting warmer out, we are back at square one with the cooling issue and now of course out of your “labor warrenty”. I’m not sure why when you came out Friday 5/9, you didn’t go straight to checking the Freon levels instead of dilly dallying around for three hours and then finally coming to...
Read moreWe prefer to use small local businesses and were recommended Helt by family members, who used this company and were very happy with their service and pricing. We have an older unit that we were hoping to repair for one more season before having to replace the entire unit. It was blowing air that was not cooled. Helt’s techs came out with this understanding and did their best to patch a leak so that Freon would no longer be leaking out. They also replaced the Freon. They felt confident that this repair would allow us to continue to use the unit, from up to a few months (to get us through the last of the hot weather) up to 1-2 more years. The unit began blowing hot air again a couple of days later. We called back, and after a few conversations, the owner and one of the techs came back to check out the unit and confirm that the weld patch did not hold. Helt refunded the check we had written to cover the initial labor, supplies, and Freon. We appreciate that even though the repair didn’t hold, Helt’s company provided fair customer service by coming back out to reevaluate the issue and by refunding our total cost so that we can instead put that amount toward a new unit. We also were impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the two techs that came...
Read moreHis people are nice. I scheduled an appointment which noted several times that I had to leave by 11:00. The appointment was originally scheduled for 10:00-10:30. The technician showed up, inspected the unit, and determined that it had been leaking Freon and showed up at 10:51. The technician then informed me that Freon was not covered on my warranty of my unit to his knowledge and had asked me what I wanted to do. I told him to go ahead and refill the unit and ask what the price per pound was. He said $95 per pound. He refilled the unit, I checked around on price per pound for the same exact Freon and was quoted at the cheapest $41 per pound. By the time he left, it was 12:51. I called the owner of the company, Steve, and questioned the price per pound, and if they would charge me a house call to come out to determine where the leak was once they had placed the dye in to determine where the leak was. He said yes there’s a house call to put the dye in, come back out and determine where the leak is, and come back out and repair the unit. A total of $375 plus the total hours of labor, which is $125/hour. While I appreciate him answering my call, this is definitely not the most price effective...
