Deak's Mississippi Saxophones & Blues Emporium — Local services in Clarksdale

My wife & I came back to Clarksdale, a couple of years after we got married there. (The gazebo across from Levon's). Didn't get a chance the first time, to really check out the town. This time we got around, explored & met some locals. This is a great town & Everyone we met, was pleasant. The 2 that stood out the most, was Deak & Wizard, at his guitar shop. Both of these places, reminded us of our Tattoo Shop. Mellow, relaxed & drop in locals. A cool place to hang out. I hope this town thrives, it needs to survive. Support it, if you can. Deak is one awesome dude, ran into him randomly across the street admiring a mural (which he is even on!) and he told me about some of the folks and building and then went to his shop and so much history there and then he set me up with a harmonica with my preferences and explained what he was going to do and did and made sure it worked right and EXTREMELY satisfied! Also TOTALLY get a copy of his CD and it’s awesome!!...

Met Deak when I was taking a photo at his corner and got to chatting. After seeing him perform that night, we stopped into his remarkable shop the next day. He does amazing work with custom harmonicas, knows vast amounts about the blues, runs an annual festival, and takes care of cats (hello to Mr. Bubbles!).
