I had a wonderful experience at Baumann Ford in Geno, Ohio. I went on a Tuesday evening to look at a few Ford Edge’s I had seen online. Rob Hoeflich greeted my sister and I in the parking lot. I asked about the Ford Edge he pulled it around it was the same year and color Edge I had seen online but was not the exact one. This Edge was actually better less mileage spotless inside and out and more features. I don’t have the best credit history I knew it would be a struggle to get me at the right payment and interest. It was time for them to close Rob gave me a idea on what they might be able to do for me. I left feeling confident and not feeling like I would be pressured into another car I didn’t want. Rob had the finance staff working the next day to get me approved. They did exactly that but at a little higher payment and rate than I really wanted but still doable. I test drove a new EcoSport but did not like at not enough storage or leg room for this tall girl. I decided on the original Ford Edge I had test drove. I came in Thursday evening after work all staff was busy but the all continued to check on me and make sure I didn’t need anything. Rob apologized for the wait. The manager of the dealership came and spoke with me and apologize once again for the wait. The manager told me he was having his finance guy run some more numbers and hopefully to get me a little better payment and interested rate. Curtis from finance finally came out to greet me apologizing for the wait and took me to his office. At that time Cutris was able to tell me he had gotten me a interest rate about 8% lower and a lower payment which also included a 4 year 48,000 miles warranty. Both Rob and Cutris helped me sync my phone to my car and reprogram the keypad door lock before me leaving with my new car. I had a expectional experience buying from Baumann Ford and will be back in the future. I never have felt that pleased with a car buying experience especially when buying a used car. Thanks again to all that staff at Baumann Ford for a wonderful car buying...
Read moreI found a 2022 Explorer ST at Baumann that was optioned as I wanted (except it was silver instead of white) and had no missing chips. I drove up from near Indianapolis because of the 100s closer ones, none had these options and had all their features actually functional.
I called, talked to Nick Paul on the phone, sent him some photos of my trade, and we worked out a deal over the phone before I left. I talked to the Ford dealer near home about a similar (not as well equipped) model and they were asking $10K over MSRP -- I was not interested in that. The general manager at Baumann agreed to sell to me at MSRP (I qualified for a $1250 refund too) based on the quality of my trade and that I was willing to do it that day. The trade value was a couple grand less than what I was offered in Indianapolis, but looking at NADA and KBB, that was about the difference that they showed based on zip codes. In the end I figured I was netting $8K compared to the other one.
As we were doing the paper work, they told me that the computer was not allowing the sale to complete because there was an open recall. I didn't get there until the service department was gone, so they told me that they couldn't even see what was actually required. We signed the papers and I ended up driving home my trade (235 mi) and they delivered the new one to the following day, so I wasn't out anything. The "recall" was actually an inspection that had already been done, but Ford's database hadn't been updated.
It ended up being a pretty good experience. Also, thanks to the person who ordered a silver Explorer ST at Baumann and got tired of waiting for it to arrive -- it was literally the only one I could...
Read moreWaited for a long time to decide to write this review...at one point I wasn't going to bother to do this but my frustration level has met its peak. Some of which is completely my fault for not asking the right questions when buying this vehicle. (the carfax history report specifically. especially since I knew better having worked for a dealer previously.) Unknown to me the vehicle came from Canada and had 4+ accidents on its history... moving forward about a week after purchase a noise/squeak began to appear from under the truck, I mean awful noise. then a knock over bumps right after that. I take it in to a shop and both front upper and lower ball joints blew apart on the suspension. I pick truck up....squeak still there. I take it to dealer I worked for they inspect and find the core support for the front end in NOT ATTHACHED ON THE LEFT SIDE...Really? They fix that. Squeak still there. About another month goes by...I go to leave work and reverse gear stops working...I get it towed, and find it needs a transmission...I replace transmission...one thing after another with this truck.. Since that moment until now just over a year later I have replaced every suspension part under the truck. On top of adjusting hood latch and bump stops...noise still there. The squeak is so loud I have to turn radio completely up to drown out the squeak...The best part is I bought the truck at such high market price (which they wrongly priced given its carfax report) I cant even trade the vehicle in without carrying 11,000 in negative equity...Let this review to be a lesson to anyone thinking of buying a used vehicle from this dealership. Buy...
