Genoa Retirement Village — Local services in Clay Township

Worse place ever to receive "care" at. Physical therapy team is great, but as far as any kind of decent nursing care, forget it. They appear to be people that can't get employment anywhere else but a hick town. Call lights are a joke, they are a "I'll get to it when I feel like it light!" Old nurse that doubled my morning meds and didn't even notice. Ran out of my particular medication twice. Outdated equipment, lazy staff what more could you ask for? As far as food goes, enjoy broccoli and brown rice every other day as a main dish with rubbery chicken or some type of can't cut meat(?) The other days.Want dessert? Enjoy something made from pineapple daily. Got extremely sick from a virus that I guess everyone had there at one time or another.that they seemed to laugh about.They checked on me once one day and maybe two the next. Call light went unanswered for hours hundreds of times, got pneumonia and then they tried talking me out of leaving for care at a hospital to avoid a blemish on they're establishment record. Lost my clothes in the laundry numerous times. Want to laugh while trying to recover? Go here, because everything is a JOKE. Need a minus system here for rating system....

I have been a resident for almost a year. This is a great community to be at. I have been on both sides for rehab and currently reside in assisted living. Both have taken very good care of me. All the staff have really gone above and beyond accommodating my needs and making the entire process easy. I can't thank Charles in admission enough for assisting myself and my family through the entire process. Made everything easy. The nurses are helpful and caring, housekeeping always keeps everything nice and clean, the food delicious, and always have entertainment on Friday for good times. I would definitely recommend this...

I was a resident at the Genoa Retirement Village for approximately 4 weeks and was in need of rehabilitation. I can honestly say from the time I started my rehabilitation until I was ready to go home, I received the best of care. The Staff beginning with the Administrator Charles,the nurses, the nurses aides, the cooks, all the kitchen help, and the therapists went above and beyond to meet my needs and make me more comfortable during my stay.
