Well worth the time and price. The paddle boat was well maintained, and the staff were polite and wonderful. The pilot gave great information, and it wasn't constant, so you could enjoy the information and relax in between the explanations. The music was OK for the most part, but there were some pretty raucous numbers thrown in every now and then. But that's just me. When I take a paddle boat cruise, I think of it as a relaxing trip, and rock music or other raucous music doesn't equal relaxing to me. But it looked like there were others that liked it plenty, so it's just me. The lake was very calm, and the speed of the boat was just right so it was easy to enjoy it. My wife gets sea sick easily and she also had a great time. Cruise tip: When you board the paddle boat, you will get on at the front, actually. So for great seats, after paying the ticket, walk all the way to the steps (in the aft of the boat) then climb to the upper level, and go all the way back to the front. That provides the best seats (if you like that). If that area is already taken, find a seat on the left side (port) as you face the front. Also: Be sure to remember to take along a wide brimmed hat and sunglasses. The sun can be bright. And for the 7pm cruise, consider taking a light sweatshirt or jacket (depending on time of year). We had a 7pm cruise in mid-June and the last 15 minutes were a bit chilly...
Read moreWhile heading home after an RV tour, we decided to visit Clear Lake so we could take the ride on Lady of the Lake. The posted schedule said there were two departure times for Sunday and one departure on Monday. Web site says they don't sell advance tickets, so, basically just show up before departure. Called to verify they were running. No one answered, just a recording of schedule. We did this both days and since we really wanted to go we just headed to the dock. Sunday no sign of life aboard, no notice of sailings cancelled were posted. Several of us left disappointed when no one ever showed. Called Monday. Same story. Again showed up at the dock. Others were waiting at the head of the dock. They spoke to a woman who went aboard but we could not hear her response. They hung around for a bit so we did too. End result was we all left. No sign was ever posted to let customers know of cancellations and no notice on their phone. Wife and I have boated most of our lives and weather was not likely a reason to cancel. My opinion is this is a " loosey-goosey " operation with poor business practices that care little for the time, trouble and expense potential customers may go to only to be let down without any notice or reason. My advise is to go elsewhere unless don't mind possibly...
Read moreHubby & I are in Clear Lake for a few days but today was the only day we had that coincided with their cruise schedule. We planned to take this cruise & arrived at the site 30 minutes prior to boarding. No staff ever appeared at the dock. As the crowd grew & conversation took place, it became apparent there may be no cruise. Finally one person in the group announced that there was no 4:00 cruise today according to a source who was privy to the information. Very disappointed that no staff came & apologized for the...
