This course is an excellent course for several reasons. Although it falls into the category of a shorter track than many other courses, playing from the tips (blue tees) makes it play longer and gives you the opportunity to challenge your game. The par 4s and 5s are tree- or water- lined, and a stream that runs through a few of the holes and greens surrounded by sand make you challenge all approach shots. You have to really know where you are placing your second shot on the 4s and 5s because of sand and water. The course is well-groomed and greens are firm and fast (and small or tiered). You have to work hard with hitting high approach shots for your ball to spin and hold. Bumping and running off fringe may cause issues because the greens are so firm and fast. Also, well-placed green side bunkers keep you honest. The fairways are in great condition, as are the tee boxes. The course has a variety of par 3s that you need to hold for birdies or pars. You have to know your game on this course to score. Additionally, being a course with a teaching academy attached to it, it has a huge driving range (reasonably priced buckets) and several practice putting greens, sand chipping greens, and chipping greens. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. I played as a single and they were gracious enough to "squeeze" me in even though they were pretty full. I rarely give a shorter course 5 stars, but after playing a round that forced me to place my drives and approach shots very carefully, I feel 5 Stars is well deserved. Lastly, it is one of the very few courses where rates remain under $40 - a great selling point. Rodriguez's imprint is definitely on this course. I will play this course more times during my stay...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWill never golf here again. What a joke. Long review ahead...from a guy that has played here plenty of times. Its always something else here. A few weeks ago, we were golfing and not only did I lose the bottom of my cleat, but also threw up from the heat and was severely dehydrated as we got to #10. We went back to the clubhouse and the guys eventually gave us [twosome] rainchecks, except for adamantly telling us several times it's only good for 30 days (which I've personally never seen a rain check expire). When we tried to redeem them this morning it was an entirely different story. They told us today was all full, it was the day of so that's understandable, so we asked for tomorrow, the gentlemen huffed and said 'you are just playing 9?' He mentioned he would squeeze us in, I said yeah that's all I have time for. He then proceeded to say that since we are there we need to pay for the entire 18 hole difference because we have a tee time slot taken up, they wanted to charge us $26 for nine holes. What is the point of a rain check then? He then said sorry if you don't like it you can talk to the manager. Do better guys! Your staff is not approachable unless they know you, they take your money quick, and kick you out quicker. TL:DR- Don't ever let anything keep you from finishing a round, even a dehydration trip to the hospital, they don't care, just give them your money and leave. Chi Chi...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely the worst golf course i have ever played at. Actually played 3 holes and left, it was that bad.
For starters the course is a par 62 and under 4000 yards (not a par 69, 6000+ yard course, as advertised on Golf Advisor, Golf Now, and 18 Birdies). They never mentioned greens were under construction, it was merely in the fine print when we booked it through Golf Now. However that wasn't the most upsetting part. The tee-boxes were complete mud, maybe 20% grass, if that. Greens weren't mowed in well over a week and the holes were filled with mucky water. Plus there was dead grass piled up with muddy patches in the green. They could at least rake the greens in the morning.
We left after 3 holes and asked for a refund because of the terrible course conditions and the false advertisement of a 6000+ yard course par 69. The 2 men in the pro shop did not care of our concerns. Acted as if we were fault for playing such terrible conditions and refused a refund.
We still left and played at Lansbrook Golf Course 100x better and friendlier staff.
I have never reviewed anything in my life but i felt so scammed today. I felt i needed to save others the trouble.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. TERRIBLE COURSE. TERRIBLE MAINTENANCE. TERRIBLE...
