I purchased a Groupon for a keratin treatment and massage at RAMAD Beauty and was excited to try them out. Booking online was simple—but that was the highlight.

When I arrived, I was told there would be an additional $80 charge for the keratin treatment, which was never mentioned on the Groupon. That’s misleading. Be honest about pricing upfront so clients can make informed decisions.

To make matters worse, the massage that was included in the Groupon never happened—not even mentioned by the staff.

The stylist who applied the treatment was kind, but he didn’t speak English, so communication was nonexistent. The owner was working on another client next to me and made loud comments about how gray hair doesn’t look good—while I sat there, clearly growing mine out. Incredibly unprofessional.

The owner asked if I wanted a trim, which I agreed to, just to clean up ends after the treatment. At checkout, I was charged $50 for a basic trim—no discussion, no styling, no consultation. Again, no transparency.

I received no aftercare instructions, had to look it all up myself, waited the proper 3 days to wash my hair, and it’s still not straight. I was told it would be because my hair isn’t that curly, yet I have to flat iron it daily.

The entire experience felt like a bait-and-switch—poor communication, hidden charges, no massage, and unprofessional comments from the owner. I would not recommend RAMAD Beauty.

I purchased a Groupon for a $79 Keratin Treatment. When I arrived for my appointment Maya brought out two bottles, one said Keratin and the other said Keratin with protein. He told me that the Keratin Treatment I purchased will last “maybe 6 weeks, however the Keratin with protein will last up to 9 months and will be smooth and shiny.” I asked what the difference was in price and he stated $150 more. I told him that I have purchased Groupons for Keratin Treatments elsewhere that cost me $97 and those treatments lasted me 6 months, and I couldn’t afford to pay an extra $150. He asked me what I can afford. I said $79 is a great price and I have paid $97 and had it last 6 months He then informed me that even if I decided to do the regular Keratin Treatment it would be an extra $75 because my hair is thick, and that it says in the ad fine print that thicker or longer hair may cost more. I told him that many places charge a bit more if hair is thick or long, but almost a 100% markup is a lot, especially if you’re telling me the treatment I purchased was not a good quality.
