Phoenix Emporium Games and Collectibles — Local services in Clearwater

Phoenix Emporium Games and Collectibles is a great store with super friendly owners! On my first visit I was greeted after entering and felt welcome. I chatted for a while with Spencer, one of the owners, and another player about many things TCG related and felt included in the communitty.

Phoenix Emporium Games and Collectibles was clean and had a lot of tables dedicated for play considering the space available. MTG, Pokemon, Digimon, Battle Spirits Saga as well as other card games and collectibles were available for sale. Singles from various card games were also available for sale. I picked up an Aerodactl V Alt Art! Snacks, drinks, sleeves and other accesories were for sale as well.

On another visit I got to chat with Shane, the second owner, about card games and my newest focus Battle Spirits Saga! We talked strategy, card choices and just whatever came to mind. I picked up some packs and then a box in search for the ever elusive Absolute Ice Shield. Got 1!

Both were great experiences and I am really happy that I decided to check this place out! Spencer and Shane have been playing card games for many years (like me lol). I enjoyed talking to people who are really passionate about TCGs.

Best Game Knowledge and customer service in the area hands down. I stumbled across Shayne and Spencer with Phoenix Emporium Games and Collectibles as I was looking to sell some of my son’s older games. I knew we had a very diverse/ valuable collection as I’ve paid a fortune for them over the years. These gentlemen audited our extensive collection while educating us along the way with tidbits of information about some of the rare games. They were honest, professional, witty and just a pleasure to deal with. I actually purchased a few items while I was there. I don’t really review business’s but to not give this duo the time would just be a travesty. They are fantastic at what they do and beyond a doubt worthy of the top tier review I can bestow. I left with a huge check, smile on my face and forever friends. You will find the guys willing to do what it takes to make you feel special. They did with my son and I and we will definitely be back!!! Great job Shayne and Spencer and Thank-you for running such a fun store !!!

Mostly nice, though the experience was soured by being snapped at towards the end about not wanting some cards taken from bulk that were priced differently in such a way I couldn't predict their cost. (Some are separated at the counter to be scanned and priced at 'market value', which can be surprisingly high for bulk cards!) Fair enough, but still unpleasant and I don't think I'll be coming back.

I do wish cards that would be selected to be priced irregularly would be separated though. Really there should be some secondary bulk section labeled for this treatment. Every collector I've spoken about this to has been baffled by this system- which has been a relief since the owner or whoever was at the register made me feel a little crazy for it.

Ultimately, as far as pokemon card go at least, this is a good place if you want to get a couple high value cards they have set aside at market prices already! The bulk boxes you search yourself aren't really worth the treatment you get for doing it or the unknown price...
