I Purchased a “Sancocho” for $17.85 plus $3 of tip, clearly the cost did not bother although I have never paid that much for a Sancocho. When I arrived to my house & served it I could not believe I was only given two pieces of potato, one piece of corn & two pieces of beef the rest was filled with broth. This is very upsetting because this has been my 2nd time going to this place & both times my experience was just as bad. The first time I purchased $20 worth of Pastries that were stale, but I decided to go back to the restaurant bc I truly like to support especially our new locals. Please see video of my “Sancocho” which should have NOT been sold bc this was clearly LEFT OVERS. I would have been ok if I was told the Sancocho was finished, I would have gladly purchased something different. Like seriously, those $17.85 could have been a parents last $ trying to feed children. DONT SELL THAT, CLEARLY IT WAS LEFT OVERS. I do give Kudos to the lady in the front who was great customer service. I will not be returning!!! See photos attached bc I was not able to...
Read moreWe were looking for something good to eat in Clearwater that wasn’t too far from the beach, and this place hit the spot.
It was fun on the inside and it had like dance music playing. I loved I could order sorta cafeteria style but they also made things fresh when it wasn’t up front.
I ordered the roast pork with white rice and beans, plus a chicken empanada on the side. The pork was incredibly flavorful. It was tender, juicy, and a generous portion. The rice was simple but perfect. I came in hoping for black beans, but they only had red beans that day and honestly, they were better than I expected. Super tasty and full of flavor.
The empanada? Made to order and so good. It was crispy outside, savory inside.
Only thing to note: I asked for water and they gave me a blue bottle of still water. Not sure if they offer tap, but I didn’t complain because it tasted great and honestly added to the whole experience.
Bottom line: I’d absolutely eat here again and want to try everything on the menu....
Read moreAn absolute gem of a Puerto Rican comfort food restaurant and bakery. What a find!
So many great choices on the menu made it a challenge to pick something. I ended up going with the El Asare (thanks to our server for helping me with the exact pronunciation), which is a delightful sandwich of Pork (leg), Ham, and Chorizo along with Swiss cheese, mojito sauce (home made) and cucumbers (which I barely tasted). The pork was so moist and flavorful. I inhaled that sandwich. The French fries were also a bit hit. Cooked perfectly and hot and fresh.
As full as I was I couldn't help but visit the bakery side of the house where I opted to take home a rice pudding. It was such a huge portion it ended up being two desserts. This place has a great selection of pastries and desserts. In hind sight I should've just bought one of everything as I'm sure it's all amazing!
Highly recommend this place for authentic Puerto Rican dishes made with and...
