Dollar General — Local services in Clifton

I gave this store 1 star because zero is not an option. This is consistently the most poorly managed store I ever go to. I wouldn't go at all except i live right down the street and im just too lazy to go somewhere else sometimes. You walk in to off putting =music blasting from a crappy bluetooth radio, forget asking anyone for help with anything, then you get to the register where there is a broken self check out for at least 3-4 years now, which would be there best asset, because their biggest problem is how long it takes to get people out of the damn store. The line can be backed up 10 deep, but they still wont add another person. It seems far more important to stock Xmas stuff on the shelf in September than to stop what you're doing and help the line of customers. Hire a real manager! These are very easy...

I went in for a return on a item a young man was helping me very kindly but was having issues putting the money back on my card. When he went to get the manager on duty she was just straight up rude like why am I returning the item anyways and she also was making a mistake and didn’t know what she was doing she told me it’s my card I have to call the bank like it’s my card that’s causing the issue and then on top she did some wrong calculation which they were doing math on their phone calculator and told me I’m getting a certain amount and I can’t get my tax back. Very worst experience and ignorance. I have worked in retail for 12 years and everything that came out her mouth was unprofessional...

I didn't argue with the person but they closed at 10:40. I was tired from the gym wanted to stop by... It says it closes at 11:00 and there's no holiday. So that means you're supposed to shut the door at 11:00 but continue to let the people that are inside shop.

But they close 20 minutes or earlier. Just shut down the business if you're going to let your employees do that stuff.. Understand they want to go home but like 5 minutes before clothes is kind of understandable. And it's only proper etiquette for people to try to hurry up and leave unless employees are busy doing some meticulous work while the front door is closed and you continue to shop a little bit.
