If you do not know how to search for temp fixes of big future problems, cover ups, etc DO NOT BUY ANYTHING AS/IS FROM THIS PLACE!!! The truck I bought had a loose water pump that was bad and leaking, and this dealership was constantly filling coolant in the radiator to fix the problem. Since the coolant tank was full and not losing any fluids I was under the assumption the truck was fine on fluids. Well, while driving 13 hrs to Maryland for work which is why I bought the truck, out of no where my heat guage shot straight to red and my truck started alarming me to turn off engine. I saw Steam and smoke starting coming out from under the hood when I instantly turned the truck off when seeing it got hot. After letting the truck cool off and checking to see if there was fluid in the radiator it was empty which was weird cause the coolant tank was full and I had hot air. I missed two days of work trying to find a new water pump while out of town and the tools to change it. Then had to buy new tires for it as well because while working on the truck I noticed on two different tires where the wire was showing. I knew the tires were worn but didn't realise they were shot. Obviously truck tires arent cheap so ive already invested 1,000 at least before actually getting to start to enjoy the truck. Still have a missing hub cap that they had me come back for once and it wasnt the right one. Salesmen was nice while selling me the truck. Loan place they work with approved of my loan even though my credit sucks, but I did have $5,000 down on a $8,000 dollar truck and my interest is like 20%. Salesman said they would "maybe" reinburse me for the water pump itself if I had the reciept, but that doesn't cover the fan wrench and fan wrench holder which was 80$ each to even change the water pump, the two days of pay I missed out on which not to brag but i make over $250 a day, and now I'm praying ill never see coolant in the oil or vice versa from cracked head gaskets from the engine getting hot. Brakes need changed already too. Etc. ALSO!!! Make sure you double check with the salesman that EVERYTHING with the loan company is complete. They had me take the truck off the lot telling me everything was all good and then when I left town I got consistently blown up saying they needed proof I was working from my company. I work ppipeline on the road and work 14-16 hrs days. I had zero time to be on my phone and had it on me for emergencies. They blew me and my work up saying they needed info "right now" like they were gonna take my truck i already paid 5,000 towards, bought new tires and water pump and was told everything was good just make your payments. The only reson why I'm giving this place any stars is simply because of how well the salesman was at his job. I used to be a salesman as well. Whatever it takes to get that item sold at a profitible price while having the customer satisfied in the moment is a salesman job. I'll admit he was good at that. Outside of that, if youre not a hardcore mechanic do not buy a vehicle off this lot unless you have one with you to thoroughly check out the vehicle youre buying. Not trying to say this is a bad place but this is my experience. I hope the mechanic reads this.. if you knew about that water pump youre a chump, if you didnt then you...

So I was looking for a new truck one caught my eye at bastians auto in coal valley. Stopped to talk about it I guess mike wasn’t available that day. So I called the next day gave him my info and we got things set up. So from this day to the day I got to test drive the truck was a span of about 3 weeks. Reason it took 3 weeks is because mike wasn’t there. I called them they never answered so two times I drove the 45 min drive to stop in and see about the truck mike wasn’t there either time. The last time I went there I asked the other employees if I could just take the truck that I planned on purchasing for a test drive got told no because I’m mikes customer and he wasn’t there!? So finally about 3 days later I get mike to answer his phone. So about 4 weeks after the very first phone call with him I’m able to come up and test drive the truck. Now granted they had to wait for the loan company to ok my work and blah blah so the first half of getting my truck wasn’t completely their fault besides for not ever answering or returning calls. So the day comes to sign papers the truck has a engine light on which they knew and told me to write down a service list of things I wanted done. So I did they call a week later asked which day worked for me. Gave them the day got it in got stuff fixed not everything I asked for but mechanically everything got fixed. 3 days after leaving the shop I left for work engine light came back on along with a vibration in my steering wheel. Called and called and called left voicemails got no return calls. Tried the next day finally got another appointment set up. Took the truck in told them what was wrong got the call to come pick it up because it was “fixed”. About 4 days go by and that engine light came back on for the same thing it was the first time (I had it hooked up to the computer at auto zone both times). Along with my exchuast falling off out of no where. Now I called them and they tell me they cannot do any more work to my truck because the last time I had it in there it had mud caked underneath the truck so I had been “4wheeling” according to the owner. And that the exchaust fell off due to that not because of rust. Now let me be clear here I ain’t gone 4 wheeling once in this truck I took it down a dirt road with some mud puddles on it on the way to a part dealers. Other than that the truck ain’t touched anything other than blacktop roads. So just for the simple fact that yeah it may have had some mud underneath from that old dirt road they will not touch my truck again. And I’ll be even more clear I would not recommend their unprofessional business to anyone. They do not answer or return calls like any other dealer I’ve dealt with. And the simple fact that they just decide I’ve been “4 wheeling” and can’t touch my truck anymore without even asking me about it just pisses me off. Oh and the damn exchaust hangers are rusted to nothing along with the muffler on it yet it was the muds fault? Not happy at all with my experience here and will never return for...

I would love to have given this place a higher rating. But however. I bought a truck from these guys a few months ago and it had some things wrong with it. And I pointed it out and they “took note of it” well I didn’t think nothing of it took their word on they would “fix it” and they didn’t! I have an oil leak that’s only gotten worse! A broken leaf spring that they where “waiting on the part for” it’s been at least 6 months and not to mention the “ warranty“ I bought with the truck that I could have very well used to fix it with! That covers absolutely nothing! I’ve had to seek other advice on how to go about holding them responsible and to their word! This would be the 2nd used car lot I’ve bought a work truck from that has just done me wrong! And I walked in believing they where a lot better then this! I have been thrown around and they have dodged my calls for about a month now. And it’s crazy! Because all I wanted was the oil leak to be fixed! I’ve kept up on the maintenance and have all the proof from the shop I take it too! And over time it’s just gotten worse! So the 10,900$ truck I pay on isn’t going to last me like I thought and here I am going to have to fork out more money. I wasn’t even worried about the little things like spark plugs I’ve had to replace and all that it has just been the oil leak! I’m not one to complain but when it comes to saying you are going to fix something and you don’t is where I get upset! I’ve called Brian multiple times to try and talk something out and get no call back I sent an email got no response so now I have to seek further action to see about reversing my loan because I have proof of the oil leak when I first bought the vehicle from them dating back to the first week I owned it! I’ve learned a lesson here and once I reverse the loan I’ll be going to a dealership! Because I’ve learned my lesson the hard way! And won’t be scammed anymore by used car lots! And it’s sad because I was a fan of the guys at the coal valley location! But the owner doesn’t seem to care that at any point this truck could leave me stranded at a job site!and that I’m out of a 10,900$ loan because well I’m sure his vehicle runs well! Just sad! Because I was referred to them by a mechanic that buys lots of cars from them! And swore that they where good people and now he can’t believe that they pulled one over like this! It’s definitely all about word of mouth and I won’t ever be referring anyone to them like I have already! Save the money guys and just go buy used from a dealership! Atleast they stand by their warrantees! That cost...
