We had our wedding here on March 26, 2011. We loved our first cordinator Donna, but she got ill. Unfortunately with the extra work load our new coordinator kept getting us mixed up with other clients and took forever to return our calls. On the day of, the chicken was dry I'm told, but I don't know for sure since I got steak despite ordering chicken. I of course needed a lot of help the day of and the staff got me through it. We were in the presidential room which must not be used often as all the clocks were off. The room itself was nice, perfect for one bride and three maids to get ready in. But, we found crushed crackers, a crumpled reciept, and an old bottle of someone's purfume and we weren't looking under the bed or anything either. Despite everything, it was good venue, not perfect, but good. The hotel staff was sweet. Read moreWe stop in at Harris Ranch when traveling from northern home to southern Cali. There is often a wait to get in and eat, but it is worth it. The meat is awesome and the decor of the place is great. There are lots of shopping opportunities while waiting to be seated.
The prices are high, but not unreasonable, compare with Mortons or other high end steakhouses, not Black Angus quality meat here so not Black Angus prices either.
I guess we have been lucky, we have NEVER seen things like some of the others describe, ie cowschwitz. Which I actually find offensive to those who died in concentration camps. And the smell of livestock is for a hundred miles in any direction while you are traveling this part of the state, so doesn't matter if you eat here...
Read moreAhhhhh HARRIS RANCH ... one of our favorite memories on the road EVER ... and IT IS like a oasis in the middle of nowhere!! the lovely hacienda hotel on this working ranch is SO cozy everything you need even bath robes!:) the rooms are all wonderful (and we've stayed a few times) the restaurant's for their delicious fresh steak&eggs for breakfast and of course delicious Harris Ranch steaks at lunch with the ranch/farm fresh vegetables grown on the grounds or for a romantic dinner with great service ... it's hard to explain ... what a great place ... you just can't get much better right off the road.
