I've stayed at Motel 6 is throughout my life on several occasions. Both throughout California and Colorado. I must say this Motel 6 has been a more than pleasant stay for me . When I arrived I was legally blind in both eyes. For weeks after my stroke, I relied solely on my husband to get around these last few weeks- since losing my eyesigh , so naturally I was apprehensive being in a hotel off of a major State Highway alone, as my husband venture to his new job site . Within a few days of my stay- one of my eyes regained enough sight, enabling me to venture outside my motel room. It was there I was greeted by Rubin- who is one of the janitorial employees here at Motel 6. He was genuinely kind and understanding to my physical disabilities. He offered his assistance to me, at anytime. I would need it. Rubin made me feel safe. Throughout the following days, as my husband I intended staying a second week , I was greeted by several others including James from the front desk and several women who also work here and tend to the housekeeping. they were all equally as kind and considerate and offered their service and help on multiple occasions. several of them that stood out to me was Devina, Jeanette and Misty. These ladies among ALL of the others that I encountered where MORE than willing to help me . I could see how hard they worked and maintaining the Integrity of the room all of these employees of Motel 6 made this day feel like a six-star ! I gave stayed at many high-end hotels in my lifetime I'm very rarely if ever have I been treated with such genuine kind considerate eager housekeeping, janitorial or front desk service. One of the employees to be not even at home to me on a plate she went out of her way and prepared my husband and I have a beautiful Thanksgiving dinner I was blown away this is a type of human kindness we all should offer to one another this makes an outstanding employee. I hope management and those in charge and including but not limited to corporate recognize what an outstanding tean they have!! I saw how eager Ruben was in assisting in the office and housekeeping he is certainly management material I'd hire him in a heartbeat. I don't often leave Yelps or offer my opinion but I'm beginning to realize how important it is lunches for the consumer but for those who work hard and go unnoticed. These wonderful people are what America is all about!! I wanted to end this by saying my stay has been a blessing I'm grateful to have met all of you keep up the outstanding work for it is my belief that you have one of the most important jobs on Earth for it is better to serve than to be served thank you so much!!...
Read moreThis place is not worth the money to stay there at all. First let me start off by saying that this place, and other hotels near it, are next to cow pastures further down the road. Therefore, that means its location stinks and smells of cows and other cowly related things... This is something the hotel can not control but I wanted to pass this information along to other travelers who may not know this. We were traveling at night and had to stop in order to make good time for the next day so we stopped here not knowing any better. Bad choice...there is another hotel further down the road I saw later that had cheaper rates and breakfast included. My suggestion is go there instead and save yourself from this place.
The rooms are adequately sized but ours had a lot of damage and MOLD in the bathroom, when I brought this up to management in the morning, or the front desk man i checked out with, he offered me no solution nor compensation for spending 8+ hours inhaling mold while I slept. On top of that, that free wifi which the man said " its internet, the router is above our room" did not connect at all to ant of my devices. So I was unable to do any work at all, which added to my frustration from learning about the mold which is a health hazard.
There is no breakfast. The beds are hard. And you will hear people through the walls and whenever they flush or use the shower through the pipes in the wall. Please keep that in mind if you are trying to get a good nights sleep and the last thing you want to hear are people shouting and laughing next door to you at all hours of the night.
Never again. Just book at another hotel somewhere else. For a motel 6 its standards were so below that's it's an embarrassment. I hope management at least contacts me about this situation. And I never write bad reviews but this one I will. And like i said i hope management contacts me to resolve this if they care about customer service...

There are only a couple of positives to this place is it's close to gas stations and a Denny's, plenty of parking, and beds were fine. There are numerous things that could be improved upon or are negatives for me: There is only one outlet in the room and I highly suggest bringing a multiplug power strip Shower is weird. You have to turn it all the way in one direction to get it cold and then go from there or else you will burn yourself. The handle itself is hot to the touch I didn't notice any bedbugs or cockroaches but there was crickets in the bathroom. This entire hotel needs to be renovated - inside and out. AC vents look like they haven't been clean since this place has been built. Wires hanging out where a smoke detector have been. Walls and door jambs are scruffed up. Floors have dust bunnies. They have an area where you can buy soda and two microwave. But honestly I wouldn't use those microwaves because they are super crusty and gross. Also on the soda machine was a list of food stuff you can buy I think at the front desk but it doesn't say (I do like you have to use your room key to enter this area). If it was up to me I would not have stayed here but a friend was tired and didn't want to do a straight drive from San Diego to northern Cali. As per usual with all Motel 6es they are the bottom rung of hotel chains and have been for at least 20 years. So it's not just this one - they are ALL like this. I would personally stay somewhere else if you can!
Something to note: Coalinga is notorious for smelling like manure due to its large agricultural and cattle industry but there was no smell at all when I stayed....
