Axe and the Oak Distillery — Local services in Colorado Springs

I am a big fan of whiskies to the point of being a bit of a snob at times, and these guys just knock it out of the park for me. Their bourbon has a lush cherries and vanilla sweetness that is to die for. Their rye has the perfect amount of complexity and spice for any cocktail I can think of. Their limited releases are always ones that they have clearly put a lot of thought and creativity into and the results pay off big time. I am not much of a clear spirits kind of a person myself, but their Citrus Gin is something I make sure to always have stocked in my bar because it is so damned versatile for making a wide variety of drinks. Only had a small time window in town, we stopped at the distillery & production facility on a whim... And it did not disappoint! Chris walked us through the facility, showed us their all by hand bottling process, and had us try a few samples! We even got to try out the bottling process ourselves. They really take pride in what they do here, and it shows....

Stopped in this morning to get a couple bottles to bring back to my husband in St Louis. Casey gave me several samples and talked me through their products which were very tasty even to someone not so into whiskey like me.
