Gerbes Pharmacy — Local services in Columbia Township

I have been going to gerbes pharmacy for 15+ years and never had an issue until now. The last couple times I've went to pick up medication I've been charged. When I know I shouldn't be. Well today I went to pick up my daughters meds and was charged again. I asked Bryton why I was being charged and I know if my insurance doesn't cover the meds, they can look for a medication my Insurance does cover. He told me I wasn't correct and that I, myself would have to call the doctor and they would have to find a medication my insurance covered. I called my doctor and found out that was incorrect information. When I called gerbes back Bryton answered the phone I told him the information he told me was incorrect and he immediately put me on hold. Gayle answered I told her what happened, she agreed with me and said yes the pharmacy looks for a medication my insurance will cover. I told her that Bryton told me different and I was immediately put on hold. She returned on the phone and told me Bryton did not say that. I said he lied. And Gayle hung up on me. I called back to see if they could give me the money back and give me my right medication. She told me no and she was too busy to discuss this on the phone and proceeded to hang up on me again. I've done business with Gerbes for a long time. I even drive across town to get my meds from them. Today will be my last day. They are dishonest people there, and half of them are new and have no idea what they are doing. Gerbes Do better at teaching your employees the right procedures and better customer...

What a absolutly horrid place. I'm not even sure how they are allowed to handle people's prescriptions. I personally do not use them, I go to kilgores, but my fiance has to use them. Everytime he goes there, they mess up his perscriptions, won't help sort it out, and they take HOURS to fill it. My fiance just called them to sort out an issue and the woman on the phone literally said " well you still have 10 days left on your current perscription so I'm not going to bother him right now"WOW! So instead of wanting to sort it out now as opposed to last minute when it will be an even bigger issue because this is a medication that he CANNOT go one day without. The people working there are rude, unhelpful, and flat out unprofessional. Do not go here at all. Literally ANYWHERE has to be better...

I love Gerbes Pharmacy. The staff has always been friendly, helpful, and professional. I've never had a bad experience there, and I've been using them regularly for many years for prescriptions as well as over-the-counter medication advise.

The pharmacy staff is also really good about working with you to find the best price for your prescriptions (e.g., trying your GoodRx vs an ins discount service), including adjusting refill size to help lower costs when needed. (I do sometimes check prices at other pharmacies, but find Gerbes consistently has the best deal.)

It's nice that they happen to be located in my favorite grocery store, too.

This is an excellent pharmacy, I highly recommend...
