When I decided to go ahead and rewrite this whole review this is over there AC Delco batteries. I just found something out interesting if you don’t keep the receipt, they will not honor the warranty on Even though they ring it through and even though it looks brand new and it still had all the barcode and everything on it, it doesn’t tell him when the point of sale was I only got a year and a half out that battery And they wouldn’t change out So that tells that they don’t know and I don’t know how long that battery AC Delco set on that shelf or where and bought I’ll never buy from there again. I’m definitely never buying an AC Delco battery that doesn’t honor their warranty the Especially since Menards doesn’t even keep track of the batteries being sold out of there or how old they are

My local Menard's has the truck rental service that is very handy for short term usage of a pickup. I used their Chevrolet pickup today to haul 2 loads of brush that included several dead evergreen trees and trimmings from other trees at our subdivision entrance. This Chevrolet pickup was pretty new, had 13K miles on it and was very nice and comfortable. The young lady at the rental counter was very polite and helpful. There was some delay when I checked the truck back in as their computer system was having some issues and they had to do additional steps to get the transaction completed. I recommend their rental program for anyone needing a pickup for several hours or longer.

I Love this place! To be clear, I enjoy the design of the store, such as the lighting, arrangement of everything, and they usually have pretty competitive prices for most things. The stock and variety of items is usually pretty great as well. The only drawback is, while the assisting associates are in general very helpful, the check-out associates have ranged from nonchalant to borderline rude to me on numerous occasions; even in the purchase of “big-ticket” items. Considerably more times than not. Nonetheless, I still highly enjoy this place. Also, the quality of material here is good (i.e. I like the sturdiness of the window blinds as compared to all other home stores).

Beware of buying lumber from Menards. You have been warned!

The front end of my vehicle was destroyed as a result of errors from Menards and myself. Menards denied any responsibility, and said that the "incident" was 100% my fault and further, they are not going to make any changes to prevent the following accident from occurring again:

First understand: if you buy lumber from Menards you MUST get a material ticket inside the store (located on the opposite side of the only entrance- and it's a BIG STORE with a long walk - where you literally have to pass through a turnstile - like cattle to the slaughter). Then you must go through the check out, back to your vehicle and drive through a poorly designed curving maze around to the back of the building and through a prison-like guard station (complete with guard and powered gate barriers) into the lumber yard.

Service: None. I searched the lumber yard for my material, hand loaded and proceeded to present my receipt to exit through the guard station.

Surprise: My ticket did not match the materials I ordered and paid for. The guard says, "You have carefully check your ticket at the materials desk before you go through the register. They get the orders wrong all the time."

Me: "What do I do now?"

Guard (while motioning to a car to back up as it is pinning me in between it and the gate barrier): "Back up and go back into the side doors, get a new material ticket, go to customer service, return the wrong item and pay for the correct one." Then he abandons me for incoming cars.

I look around, all apparently clear, and slowly back up and begin turning to avoid the car behind me, when a horrible crunch sound occurs. I get out to see a metal post (it's purpose is to prevent vehicles from driving into the guard shack) buried in concrete - just out of my view from my position in the vehicle - has tore into my left front panel and bumper of my vehicle. Menards has placed a metal post (i.e. obstacle) below the view of most drivers near a very narrow exit - an invisible hazard - in a location where backing up and turning will likely result in an accident.

This is easily preventable by either correcting the ticket on the spot, replacing the short metal pipe with a taller that is visible from all vehicles and one that is closer to the guard shack away from a vehicles turn path, or simply not allowing drivers to back up in the gate. Have them drive through and correct the ticket inside the store. Instead of unnecessarily forcing them to take a risk backing up in a hazardous environment with hidden obstacles. Further, because, "they get the orders wrong all the time." Menards should verify with the customer that they have gotten the order correct before sending them off.

Guard: "Dang! Sorry about that! I guess that's what insurance is for!"

Beware of buying lumber for Menards! You have been warned.

Save big money.... Don't...

Bought a new refrigerator 8/14/15. It was to have hinges changed to left side. Salesman & appliance supervisor "assured" me that the refrigerator was in stock, would be brought to the floor where one of them would "make SURE" that hinges were changed from right side to left side. A delivery check sheet was filled out with hinges on LEFT indicated. Delivery scheduler "assured" me that the refrigerator was in stock, and would be taken to the appliance floor and the hinges would be changed from right side to left side. I must have asked EACH of them 4 times apiece, you will MAKE SURE that this will be done prior to delivery and ALL persons "assured" me that it would be "taken care of". Well, U guessed it. Delivery occurred on Monday, 8/17/15 & the refrigerator had NOT been touched, door was hinged on right side. I was out of town by then & my husband who was scheduled to leave town, had to cancel his vacation, and stay and all by himself, change the hinges to the left side. Needless to say, WE WERE NOT HAPPY CAMPERS!! Upon calling the store, the sales staff indicated that this isn't the 1st time the delivery scheduler didn't get the product to the floor to be worked on before delivery. In my opinion, the sales team (esp. the appliance supervisor) should be keeping a LIST of every appliance sold that needs adjustments before delivery & should BE following UP with the delivery scheduler, if the appliance hasn't arrived in their department in time to make delivery. BOTH departments should BE CHECKING and MAKING SURE the product is ready for delivery. Now I have to wonder if I will still get the ice maker I paid for-will they even notify me when it arrives at the store, or will this FALL THROUGH the CRACKS TOO!!!! Please do not "assure" the customer that you will follow through on a special order/need, and then...

Went to get some big bags of soil and some larger planters. Could not fit them all on one trip in my cart, so went to the register to see if I could get assistance or pay for everything and then just come back and pick up the planters. There were two cashiers that were in the checkout and one informed me that I could not pay for something I could not bring up to the register there was no way they could even look it up.. So then asked if I could just get someone to help me bring them up here so I could just pay together. She said that would probably not be possible either. She informed me that I was either going to have to make two trips and pay separately after I loaded 5 bags of dirt by myself or go all the way to the back fill out some ticket and wait for someone to help me if I needed assistance loading. So I just loaded the 5 bags of dirt on my own walked all the way around the store semi fit these huge planters in a cart and had to go all the way back through the same check out and wait in line again and run another transation. If I was not in a time crunch would've asked to speak to a manager. I generally have never had any trouble getting assistance at Menard's but that day I was very disappointed in the customer service I received. Will not be going back for a while if I ever think I will need any...
