If there was a 0 star rating it would reflect. The store is drastically understaffed and uniformed. I first went the the firearms, no assistance. Next, I went to the knifes, again...no assistance. Meanwhile there was about 8-10 customers there wanting to view weapons. Ok I don’t have much time so I went ahead and decided to do some clothes shopping, found the pants I like to wear to work. Wanted to buy 5 pair (I don’t have the time to shop). Of course my size wasn’t available, looking for an employee too me 10 mins who wasn’t “busy” so he explains to me that there is not any in my size, though “we can order any of them for you” I didn’t really want to do this because I just don’t have the free time due to work load but I figured I would since the work never stops and if I don’t do it now I won’t get to. So after 20 mins of filling out the info, we find all the products then go to purchase and all of a sudden the were 1 short. Ok, no big deal, so we take another 20 mins to do another Oder. Again couldn’t figure out the computer, I had questions of the promotion. $100 ammo 25 percent off under armour. I asked the question 5-6 times and was met with “no, that’s just for the shirts“ I then asked whey is it on every under armor product and it literally says all under armor? Then all a sudden there was plenty of people there not “busy” it took 3 of them to figure it out and then had to call a manger..all the while I’m thinking in my head how much more plain can it get???? It says it right there in English? But I bite my tongue and be very patient with them. After another 20 mins of figuring that out I’m now there for roughly 40-50 mins Nothing done...so i get the green light of the promotion...(take the signs down if you dint want to honor the promotion) I go to buy the ammo, 5 mins later my associate comes over and tell me there’s only 1 pair of pants now....at this point I’m fuming..”Dude we just order 4 pair! What do you mean only 1 now?” I went to manager and asked for my money back because at this point you’re just taking my time, valuable time I can be using to make money...he had no remorse just wanted to be a smart alic about it so I politely asked to refund money, thank you good bye. I will never to to that store and will not allow my family to...
Read moreUsually not a terrible experience. Same old crap everyday though. Never much anything new in this store. I did however learn my lesson buying a side-by-side from this location. I have been in touch off and on for about 6 months with Corey in boat sales. Between the lack of communication in the email saying I will get back to you in a week or two it has been 6 months. There is typically always an excuse. Bass pro is the first dealership I have ever bought a unit from Brand new. I have learned my lesson. I have made several attempts to reach Corey through call and email. When he does answer it is typically to just get me to go quiet again for a couple more weeks.. with the response of I will get back to you next week and we will get together on this. 6 months later we have absolutely lined it not a thing out the unit has been in and out of the shop more than I've had it in my own possession. I've asked if we could either get out from under it or trade it in on something else that I can use. Originally when I first met Corey I told him I'm just looking to get away from it but not go further in debt face to face was the first time I've talked to him and he told me give me a week we will get something figured out. I told him anything helps he said absolutely I understand. 6 months later between trying to reach him and emails that have gotten me nowhere I am still sitting here making payments. I mean I'm just looking to get clear of it because it's not in my possession more than it's in their shop. They even got me on the extended warranty. Dealing with the salesman at this location shows that all they care about is their commission off of every sale they make. They will never look back to extend a helping hand lesson learned go to a name brand dealer if possible. This was my first time dealer purchase and it won't happen from Bass pro again. Also when he would claim that he's waiting for a response from someone higher up the response would never come. Which tells me he never told anyone higher up if I had to guess it's a shame that this is how they let the salesman represent their company and take care of...
Read moreUpdate: Contacted Ruger, they accepted the gun for return. They replaced the barrel and made adjustments. The gun now cycles flawlessly and is consistently reliable. Well done Ruger, thanks for stepping up.
My son recently purchased his first rifle, a Ruger American Rifle Standard Bolt action Rifle, model 16974, at the Columbia, MO location. He had to wait the obligatory 10+ day waiting period. I went with him to pick up his rifle. I was disappointed that they sold him the display model. There were several light scratches on the barrel. I inquired about this and was told that they were not that bad. Eventually a manager type came and offered my son $25 off on the rifle. Bass Pro needs to inform people that they are being sold a display model and it should be discounted up front. Personally, I would never purchase the display model if I had a choice. The 4 round, 308 multi-caliber magazine that Ruger is using in these rifles are absolute junk. Look at online reviews before buying one. Buy 4 or 5 of these magazines, maybe one or two will work decently. We put a scope on this rifle, went to the range. First attempt to chamber a round. Jam. Second try, jam. The 4 round magazine is essentially a one round magazine. Bass Pro needs to tell people they will need to call Ruger to get a free magazine, or have them send a conversion kit to convert the gun to the AI- style magazine. Then go to YouTube for a tutorial on how to install the conversion kit. The gun is very accurate, but hand loading one round at a time is rather tedious. After we converted to the AI-style magazines, it seems a much better magazine. However, the 5 round is best with only 4 rounds. The 10 round magazine is best with only 8 rounds. The 10 round magazine failed internally after two uses. Now headed to Midway Arms-USA for a 10 round magazine replacement. Great gun. Awful magazines. I would gladly pay for a well built metal magazine to come with these rifles. Come on Bass Pro tell people about these lousy mags. Come on Ruger build...
