My boyfriend and I attended an “Intro to Rock Climbing” class here. It was amazing. I always was afraid of taking this first step but somehow randomly came across this class on MINDBODY app and registered for it. The instructor was very knowledgeable and calm which helps if you have stress in either climbing or going down. He was very friendly and made the experience very smooth. My bf caught up with the material much faster and the instructor made sure the class wouldn’t be boring for him and covered some more advanced stuff for him. Overall, I recommend this class to someone who has been considering to start rock climbing at a gym. I am considering to attend the yoga classes next time. The vibe here is very nice and other climbers are friendly and helpful. The gym has easy and challenging routes and instructors help you understand which routes are best fit for your capabilities. For $25 each, we were able to get a 1 hr class, and access to climbing shoes (which were very comfortable and worked for wide fit feet) and climbing chalk. Our coach started the class with some stretch movement to make sure our shoulders are ready for...
Read moreMy 10-year-old daughter and I have been going to Columbus Rocks for Daddy-Daughter dates for the past couple of years, and it’s become a special tradition for us. This time, though, was different—and in the best possible way.
Under new ownership, the place has gotten a fantastic facelift. There are more climbing walls than before, a dedicated kid-friendly area, and we were excited to hear that even more upgrades are on the way. You can tell there’s a renewed energy and vision behind it all.
What really made this visit unforgettable, though, was the staff. The guy who helped us (unfortunately bad at remembering names…) went above and beyond. He was incredibly welcoming, patient, and encouraging—especially to a couple of amateurs like us. He made us feel completely at ease and truly elevated the experience.
Columbus Rocks has always been a great place, but now it’s something really special. A 10/10 visit, and we’re already looking forward to...
Read moreMy husband and I love rock climbing and we wanted to try a new place out and bring our kids. So we found Columbus Rock Gym on a Google search. The good news is it's great for kids. The kids loved it and they found a new love for rock climbing. However, I wasn't very satisfied as an adult. It's a small place and it was over crowded. A lot of the people were sitting in the middle and you had to try not to step on someone to get to the other side to another wall. An understandably good rule is that you can't climb if someone is under you. This prevents injuries in case you fall. But nine times out of ten there was someone under you laying down or sitting and talking. We were charged $60 for the four of us. The kids used the time well! But my husband didn't get to climb at all and I only got to climb a couple of walls before I stopped because there was nowhere else to climb where someone...
