Cycle614 — Local services in Columbus

Kati Potts has been entered in my spinning leader Hall of Fame. She is the complete package, Challenging but smooth ride, encouraging, supportive and all around top notch. We all are lucky to have her to work with.

I wrote the above when I first started spinning with Cycle614. Multiply by 10,000 and you will find my opinion now. A truly great facility; the best spinning I have ever had. And Kati Potts, as great as she was when I first was spinning with her, she gets better every session. I will have to invent new superlatives to write my next review.

I just returned from a month away and find that Cycle614 is better than ever. I was greeted with encouragement and support and, of course, Kati Potts continues to be a superlative leader. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work out in a fabulous facility staffed by wonderful people. I recommend Cycle614 at the highest level.

I feel bad for Cycle 614 members who missed Kati Potts' class at 9:30am on Friday, 11/4/16. It was the ride of the year, if not the decade! A truly great facility and a great ride leader. At age 77, Cycle 614 gives me hope for conditioning that I can reach 100.

I have enjoyed vacationing on bike tours over the last couple of years but have always lagged behind my fellow bikers. In June, 2016, I began spinning 3 times per week with Cycle614. On April 7, 2017, I completed a week long tour with the same group and I was one of the fastest riders with most endurance each day! What a phenomenal improvement. And I did nothing else to prepare myself other than spinning with Cycle 614! A great facility with great staff and fabulous spinning leaders, including the incredible Kati Potts, an all time great leader. I am truly thankful for Cycle614 and the benefits that I have derived from it. It is now July 3, 2018, about 25 months since I began spinning at cycle 614. This, without question, is the best of any athletic facility anywhere. The equipment is superlative and extremely well maintained, its website is simple to use and, best of all, the spinning leaders and management are without question the best anywhere. The management team welcomes its customers like we are world champions come to visit. Smiles and enthusiasm greet all of us. Due to the performance of this company and its people, my health and physical conditioning has improved exponentially. I cannot say enough about this company which has been a great friend and workout facility for the two years that I have worked with them.

It has now been 2 1/2 years since I began spinning with Cycle 614. I have been spinning for over 30 years and no facility can come close to the professionalism, efficiency and greatness that I have found with this facility. The staff and class leaders are incredible, the facilities themselves are above reproach. If I happen to drive past Cycle 614 on my way to another location, I simply smile to be so lucky as to have found Cycle 614.

It is now February 18, 2019. I have reread my earlier comments and it seems like I have used every superlative word in the English dictionary so I suppose I could simply say to a reader that you should go back to the beginning of my plaudits about cycle 614 and simply know that cycle 614 gets better every day, every class, every leader, every management personnel. I am so thankful to have the cycle 614 facility and team that allows me to maintain a high level of conditioning. I am almost 80 and, due to cycle 614, honestly believe that I have a shot at least another 10 years due to the support of this facility. I am honored to have the opportunity to strongly endorse this company, its people, and this facility.

It is now March 25 2019. I have been spinning with Cycle 614 for almost three years. Everything that I have said before can be multiplied several times. After spinning for at least 30 years I believe that I can comment with some authority on the value of various spinning facilities. NO ONE can compare to cycle 614. It is the best anywhere!! I am truly thankful to have Cycle 614...

I’ve frequented Cycle614 for a few years. I took a pause during the pandemic and have started cycling again. I can’t recommend the experience enough. The first ride is free. Parking is rarely an issue and they email you with directions for other parking areas in case you need them.

Experience - The experience is always wonderful. From signature rides to HIIT rides, there is consistently an awesome playlist and inspirational instructor. Some classes have stats as you ride - I love this since it motivates me to push myself within my limits. Some classes (blackout rides) have the boards turned off. Don’t worry, they still keep some lights on so it isn’t huffing and puffing in a dark room with strangers which would seem super sketchy. The classes are all challenge by choice. Each instructor challenges you to rise up to the day and be the best version of yourself that you can be. It is super non pushy and relaxing environment which works well for me.

Environment - The front desk staff are super welcoming. There are storage lockers if you need them. If you ever need to have help with the bike (ex: sometimes I can’t get my bike seat secure), the instructor is super willing to help. If you do need to go to the bathroom, they are always super clean. The cycle room itself is super nice - there are always fresh towels on the bikes which come in handy if/when you sweat. There fans and A/C work super well and there is a fancy air filtration system they got to be extra safe due to COVID. An added benefit - I have a hard time riding outside due to allergies and definitely have no issues when riding at Cycle614. If the music is too loud, they offer ear plugs - 99% of the time, I feel this isn’t needed. Once you are done riding, they give you these fancy towels that smell good and make you feel like you’ve gone to the spa. They also have awesome candles that they burn and you can buy (contributing to the spa experience). Side note: have not been to a spa but this is my best guess of what it would be like.

Instructors - all of the instructors are really good. So far, I haven’t seen a rotten egg but can update this review if it happens (doubtful). They pick their own playlists and if there is a big theme, it is usually labeled in the ride name (ex: country, hip hop, lady gaga vs Beyoncé, one hit wonders). I recommend trying as many of them as possible to find the instructors you like best. Personally, I think Regan has the best playlists that speak to my taste (ex: hits of 2000s / pop). Some of the instructors also ask for song requests (ex: Jonathan) and, admittedly, I haven’t tried this however he seems trustworthy. Katie/Leah/Jonathan lead the rides where I have found I push myself the hardest. Francessca (my spelling may be off) and Alessandra have lead the toughest arm workouts (with the weights) - they also remind you this is optional.

Recommendations - try different rides. Occasionally, there are new classes or rides offered. Example: I had a weird work schedule and was able to try 9:30AM classes. I’m hoping to try one of the rise and rejuvenate rides with Demi some Sunday. Keep an open mind - you will be asked to challenge yourself but it is what you make of it. Try different seats. I’ve found that I prefer sitting in the back since I have a hard time staying on the beat with music. Early on, it can also be nice to sit on the sides of the room so you can tell what position you should be biking in (from looking at the instructor). I've been going to cycle 614 on and off for over two years now. I absolutely love it. First of all there's no expensive contacts or commitments, you can buy ride packages or even just a single ride when you feel like dropping in. Secondly the instructors are the most positive, upbeat people ever. When you go in it's just a great vibe. The workouts are fantastic! When I first started going my goal was just to finish the workout and never stop, now I'm trying to challenge myself a bit more. I always leave feeling accomplished. The lights are low in the studio which I really like so I can just focus on my ride and what I'm trying to get some that day. The music is perfect with instructors matching the beats to the workouts which I love more than anything. When you leave the studio floor The instructor also offers you a chilled eucalyptus towel which I live for basically after that workout. It's easy to create an account and book, especially if you have the app. I recommend following them on Instagram as well. Your first ride is free which is great, you can see if it's really for you. I've had more than one friend try it out and go back for more. I've highly recommended cycle 614 to my friends and would highly recommend to anyone....
