We come here whenever we get a chance to because their food is so good and so affordable. The fried chicken eggs benedict was good; they use chicken tenders for the fried chicken parts and you get two strips, with two eggs, two english muffins, and your choice of sides. The eggs were a bit overcooked and didn't run as much as I would have liked, but still very good. Their country fried steak, sausage, home fries, hash browns, and gravy are delicious as well! I especially like their breakfast that includes pancakes because I get sweet and salty. Everything is made well and is what I expect when I think of or crave breakfast foods. Their portions are generous for their prices! The meals are delicious and comforting. Staff is super nice and checked on us a lot. The owners (we think) are super nice and welcoming. They greeted us, talked to us, and even gave us a free muffin to go. The owners showed us their appreciation and we're just very welcoming and warm. This place is always always busy when we come and they aren't open all day, so we really enjoy the days that we can come and enjoy a meal here. There isn't much parking in the front area because all the businesses get a lot of traffic and so, this place is usually very full and sometimes, there's a wait for a table. However, staff works very hard and are accommodating! This is a good place for brunch, a small group get together, casual date, yummy food, and had a welcoming atmosphere!

April 14th visit: I thought I already reviewed this and wanted to put it in before removing more pictures from my phone. I ordered the Tex Mex omelet. There was nothing in the description about beans, which I cannot eat, but it came with beans. Fortunately not inside the omelet ...I took the time to fish out each one from what was mixed up and piled on top. Otherwise, the omelet was ok, but not worth coming back and paying $14 for in addition to the drinks and tips. The menu item does mention "chili," but chili means different things depending on where you come from (note: they don't put beans in Texas chili), and I could not even see the beans from the tiny menu picture on my phone. I think they should change the menu detail to "bean chili." I'm really surprised by how much some have raved about the coffee ...it was actually pretty bad. And I'm no coffee snob ...I enjoy even the cheapest coffee. I normally drink several cups in the morning and I couldn't get past this first one. Something about it just tasted really off to me. I didn't give it much more thought until I saw how much I was charged for it. I'm pretty sure it was more than what the menu stated online ...I remember paying closer to $5. Very difficult to rate as I appreciate that this is a small, family business and many other people seem to enjoy eating here, yet the breakfast itself didn't make me want to come back.

I think Grand Day is a great place, especially if you’re looking for a nice simple breakfast. I’m a traditional meat, potatoes, eggs over medium breakfast eater. I’d give them closer to 3.75 stars since this was my first visit. First, the meal I got was excellent. Their breakfast potatoes are unique and flavorful. Coffee was decent with a good selection of creamers. Our waitress was perfect in my honest opinion. She was around just enough at the right times to get orders, check drinks, make food suggestions. Our food took a little long to come out but on the flip side it was a busy packed Sunday morning and I had zero wait for a table of three. My friend got the rueben dog which looked awesome. I top my breakfasts off with a chocolate chip pancake and theirs wasn’t as fulfilling as I’d hoped. Otherwise, the price was right, staff was friendly. For a simple breakfast without “putting on the ritz” they fit my fancy.

With my current job, I travel and eat outside often. However, I never get tire of coming to this place and eat. In fact I came here to eat often when i attended OSU. The owners are so nice and they had offered me a part time job. John and Kim are tough. Their toughness is for the best of employees and customers. We all know being a waiter or waitress, our incomes are depending on tips. Our tips depend on the service that we provide to the customers. Therefore, we cannot be lazy, take the wrong orders, or not pay attention to the customers and expect good tips from customers. The other guy review is completely different from what I experienced when I worked there. Kim and John hold us to the highest standard in servicing customers. Because they want to show the customers that they value their businesses. Regarding to the the rushing at the checkout, i was trained that I should never let the customer go up to pay the bill. That way the customers have more time and talk with their families and friends during the meal. Whenever they feel ready to leave then they can just leave and not have to worry about taking the bill to the register. Being as a waiter or waitress, we also train that the drinks must always be full when the customers sit down until they leave. Yes there are a lot of high expectations in this job. With hard work, it pays off. Customers do not need us but we always need them!!! Up until now, I still always think about this quote. That is one life lesson that I learned in this job and I will never forget. Thank you...

Don’t eat here. OR - if you must, eat here having been forewarned: With my breakfast I ordered a cup of fruit. Menu said it was $.49 extra, listed under sides. I ordered the oatmeal, listed on the menu just above it.

It was quite small - Three slices of banana, one slice of strawberry, one piece of pineapple and maybe two pieces of cantaloupe. Bill came, my husband paid it. As we were getting ready to leave I happened to glance down at the now paid bill. I was charged nearly $5.00 for this small cup of fruit.

The menu stated the price of the oatmeal. Under it, it stated, cup of fruit, .49 extra. So I ordered oatmeal with the .49 extra add on.

I approached the staff, she brought over the owner, and he said, it’s only $.49 if it’s ordered with a meal. You ordered oatmeal. That’s not a meal. So the charge stands. This higher charge - higher by 10x, is listed nowhere.

My husband ordered a meal, but the owner said he didn’t order the fruit cup. So nope, not going to budge.

This is ridiculous. The price was ridiculous, but more significantly- the owners attitude was ridiculous, rude and offensive . He refused to refund the cost and he refused to acknowledge that his menu is misleading. He wanted his $5.00 for his cup of fruit.

Don’t eat here. If you do, when you order the fruit cup, specify that you’d like the 49 cent fruit cup. Then check the bill...
