Medina Market and Restaurant — Local services in Columbus

So, it happened. I will not be eating here again and here is why.

This is the second time they have made a mistake on my order, and both times have not made up for the order by not giving me a refund or replacing the food. The first time was last Ramadan and we ordered the food two hours before it was time to break our fast---and when it was time to eat, we noticed the food was spoiled, despite keeping it in the fridge for just those two hours. We called and were gaslit, and we did not get properly refunded. The second time was today, which was the last straw for us. When we got home, we opened our food and saw our lamb grill was completely burnt. INEDIBLE. When we called, they played dumb and told us we can get either a refund or come in and get new food. And when we did, with proof that we made our order just an hour earlier, we were told we had to bring the physical evidence to prove it was burnt, despite showing pictures. Again, we did not receive a refund, nor a replacement.

This place has been a go-to since I was a kid. I remember coming here as a little kid to get food with my family. Now, as an adult, I am utterly disappointed and am saddened that they've lost a loyal customer. If they'd just made up for their mistakes, I would not be writing this disappointing review. I will not be eating at this...

A African friend brought me to this restaurant in the early 2000. He brought me food from Medina it was so good and I remeber the portion was unbelievable. Since then I never had a problem with this restaurant until now. I don’t know what really happen the portion start getting smaller. On the Dibi lamb. Then i started getting fish that didn’t look like fish... I use to love coming here.. not no more... I told my whole family and friends about this place.. I will never step my feet in this place again.. I will admit the people are very nice and polite. If they change the price on anything on the menu u need to let customers be...

Im new to Colombus Ohio. From Florida, where there is a Caribbean at almost every traffic light. I drove for almost 2 hours looking for fresh snappers and maggie djon djon!!! Found some over priced FROZEN, NOT CLEANED fish so i bought them! After stopping 3 times at other latin&african markets i gave up! While in Kroger, a friendly haitian lady told me Madina may have the item i so desperately wanted to complete my Good Friday meal! I went there and they were out on the shelves😥. Luckily there was a box stashed behind the counter and the cashier GAVE ME 4 FOR FREEEEEEE! THIS is my new store! Thank you Madina...
