Zaytoun International Market — Local services in Columbus

Great store for authentic Bengali, Middle Eastern, and Asian groceries, including meat, fish, vegetables, and heat and ready to eat foods. I travel 200 miles roundtrip to shop here. The owners Manohar and Sheuli personally attend to customer needs enthusiastically. Now I am seeing they are stocking foods from additional regions of South Asia too. Two days ago I noticed bags of Ponni Raw Rice!

They inaugurated a restaurant on Friday, January 14. It is attached to the grocery store but with separate entrance. The tandoori chicken and chicken tikka masala and naan was best in USA in 40 years. Chinese noodles, desert, and tea were also great. The owners, owner's son and daughter-in-law were actively helping in running the restaurant. Dipu is a fantastic cook. The restaurant was House Full with customers waiting to get in. Tahir did a great job of waiting. Juan is also very good. Everyone was so gracious and pleasant!

I checked all the guests from so many different nationalities. They were all enjoying the food!

The food, prices, and service in this restaurant is good, they will have to expand in months. A jewel of...

I used to like coming here, but there are few things that needs to be addressed!

1.) The owner keeps saying to buy this and that, sometimes he follows the customers around. Very uncomfortable.

2.) The price in general is always much higher!

3.) Today I came to buy 2 chicken, there was no price displayed, all the salesman asked if I wanted whole chicken. After cutting it, he tells me the price for 2 chicken is $29, the chicken also had a very bad smell.

I don't plan to shop here anymore!

Edit: I called the owner about chicken smelling very bad, he happily asked me to bring it...

Nice and clean Bengali/ Bangladeshi grocery. The staff/ owner is very friendly and helpful. Their stock is great, including spices to frozen food, etc. you would get some typical, and authentic Bengali stuff here which you probably won’t get in typical Indian groceries. Also their fish and meat section is great. We bought some chicken and mutton/ goat meat. The meat quality was great. They dress the meat and make pieces according to your need. They have typical Bengali fishes too. I would have appreciated if they could sell after frying ( the way big Asian groceries...
