They have a table of kid’s toys and one of the toys is the squeezable jelly balls inside mesh. They are meant to be squeezed. My 10 year old has bought several of them here in the past and today we went in while waiting for our movie to start next door, she squeezed one once and it exploded all over the place. I promptly got an employee letting them know what happened and that it was all over and on my daughter and she got snarky and said “she squeezed it too hard” and had a disgusted angry look on her face. I asked for a paper towel and happily would have cleaned it up but she then said “next time you come in here I’d appreciate it if you don’t touch those toys since you broke one all over my merchandise and made a mess”. I told her I’m sorry that my daughter touched a toy that is meant to be squeezed but don’t appreciate the attitude about it. She said it’s never happened before and that next time she would appreciate if we don’t touch them. I said there won’t be a next time. It’s a shame because it’s a cute store but this same lady has been rude to me before. I don’t know if she’s the owner or the manager or just an employee but she’s a miserable person who shouldn’t be running a store with hands on stuff if she doesn’t expect accidents to happen. Honestly, last time we were there one of those same toys was leaking all over the container before my daughter even picked it up and we purchased other ones and she tried to blame us for the other one being messed up that she hadn’t broken. Never going back in this store. If my daughter was the type of kid who ruined her toys or was disrespectful in a store then I wouldn’t be in the store or let her touch things, these balls commonly do this..read reviews online. I did not appreciate the way she acted and if she wasn’t so rude and condescending I would have offered to pay for the CLEARANCE item she was so...

Recently, I purchased a backpack at Tropical Trends and was assisted by a helpful young male associate who assured me I could return it if any issues arose.

Unfortunately, the backpack’s fabric began fraying excessively for no apparent reason, so I returned to the store today seeking a replacement.

The female employee with brown hair behind the counter was shockingly rude, dismissing my concern by calling the backpack “dirty” and denying that any staff member would have promised a replacement. This was blatantly untrue, as the original associate explicitly offered that assurance. I no longer have the receipt, as I trusted the initial promise and didn’t anticipate issues with a defective product.

The employee’s dismissive attitude and refusal to offer a refund or replacement left me extremely disappointed. I expected better customer service and accountability from Tropical Trends. I won’t be shopping here again and caution others about their poor product quality and unprofessional staff — which is unfortunate because I really loved the store and its staff entirely PRIOR TO this experience...

My daughter walk in the store and she started looking around to see what she likes. I was next-door at the nail salon. She tells me that mom has a Lotta nice stuff in the store. I told my daughter here’s my card. Hope I whatever you want once she walk inside the store again they made a rude comment why she’s coming back again, if I would’ve been my daughter, I would not purchase not even one little thing with the uncomfortable comment that they made my daughter still made a purchase. I am so upset that she did even though knowing that they made a couple comments that was not respectful at all . I am a Hispanic mother I’m from the Dominican republic. We are not white with blue eyes or blonde hair. If I wouldn’t be, they wouldn’t make those common so ridiculous. Why would they say why she’s coming back again that make my daughter feel so uncomfortable. I’m sure those people are not even Native American. The parents are also mix didn’t even know we want.
