First time consigning. Never again. I had read others' comments about this owner's rigidity, and experienced it to some degree with the staff when I consigned, but thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt. When I went to pick up my unsold items 1/2 day late, the clerk told me it was too late and now they are the property of the store. When I talked to the owner, who just a few minutes before, had smiled and welcomed me, she was condescending and rude the minute I asked her about this. "Rules are rules and they are not to be broken," she said. I said "what about customer service for a first time consigner?" And she said no and she didn't care if I write a review. Then she sarcastically said, "Have a nice day." How old-fashioned and unpleasant they are.
Afterwards, I thought what if the owner had said, âWhat do you think you will do with the items that didnât sell?â I would have reflected and said, âProbably take them to Goodwill.â She might have said, âWell, we both wish they had sold, but since the pickup date expired, how about I try to sell them for a discounted price, and youâd be helping a local small business.â I guarantee you that an approach like that would have ensured that the end result was the same for the store, but so much more pleasant for the customer and they would have not incurred ill will. I hope they will consider a different approach...
Read moreUpdate: I bumped this up to two stars because of Dr. Lisa Franklin who works here. She is a gem! Very willing help. I would give her 5 stars honestly. But from a consumer standpoint, I still agree with my initial 1 star rating of the way they do business. Here is my original review: Might be a good place to find some clothes but sure is the worst place to consign. They only allow you to bring in 6 items at one time. Only once a week are you allowed to make an appointment (and yes you must make an appointment to consign). You canât make an appointment beyond a week. They give you a sheet of your items and if they donât sell by a certain date you must walk through the store and find all the items yourself. If you need help finding an item they charge you $1/item. If you donât collect your items by the date, they keep them. AND when they write you a check they charge $2 for doing so. Such a terrible, old school business. A newer and better consigning option needs...
Read moreClassless and complete lack of common decency. If I could give 0 stars, I would..the staff are very unprofessional and rude. I was there today with my 5 pound service animal in my arms and was told to leave..I looked for a sign on the way in and didn't find it, my mistake, it was inconspicuous and hard to notice because it was just a list of black writing along with other No this and no that's out of eye level..what they didn't notice is I came in with someone who listened to those three old gossiping hens trash talk me for a solid five minutes after I left saying that I should "learn to read" and that I was "selfish" for bringing my dog into a public place. All I even said was I didn't see a sign and I said it quietly to myself as I left the store which I did immediately without argument about what I need the 5 pound dog for. Those women have no clue how to treat customers or people in general and should be ashamed of...
