Well worth stopping! Incredible find! We noticed the trading store while driving along Highway 160 from Durango to Four Corners. I am glad we saw the shop and were able to stop. The previous day we toured Mesa Verde National Park and were disappointed not being able to find the variety of souvenir items available at the Ute Mountain Trading Company. We found the staff to be knowledgeable, incredibly helpful, and friendly! Inside, were many interestingly designed items crafted by local Ute artisans. All sizes and shapes, beautifully crafted, and authentic. I noticed a small wing of the store contained various artifacts, historical documents, and more - very educational and interesting. We also received a short tour of the entire complex, thank-you! We purchased several items as gifts and for display in our home in southeast Texas. We were delighted being able to stop! Made our day!    Read moreAlmost everything in this store is hand made, on site, by Ute people. The prices are very reasonable, especially compared to Cameron Trading Post near the Grand Canyon. Most pottery has the Ute tribal stamp on the bottom. All of the pottery is made on site. I was told the design on the bowl I bought was copied from one that was found in pieces in Mesa Verde.
