2 yrs ago the the store was stocked, organized, clean, and maintained. 2 yrs ago the staff was helpful, friendly, and happy. Now the staff is overworked, exhausted, and not happy. The store is understaffed. I feel like they work in substandard conditions. Months ago the heater for the store broke. The employees had to work in these conditions. Along with DG closing early for MULTIPLE weeks. I prayed the employees didnt loss pay for the hours DG was closed, but I do believe this was what happened. They should not lose out for staying loyal to DG. Along with the heater not being fixed for MANY weeks, several of the refrigerators are broken, and empty. The store is a mess! In multiple isles are HUGE overstock carts blocking the way. Multiple overstock carts in places! I have scratched, pinched, and bruised myself trying to get past these carts! I have had to move these HUGE HEAVY carts many timesa The cash register malfunctions frequently, and has to be reset, which takes probably 4 to 5 minutes! I ordered DG online for pickup the 1st time a few days ago. NEVER will I do this again! It is the most unorganized site I have ever ordered from. Ive never seen online ordering without a search option. You have to figure out what category DG has it under. Such as frozen food, health aids, snacks and candy, home essentials... Once selecting a catagory, approximately 10 to 20 choices come up. If they are in some kind of order, I couldn't figure it out. I had to go thru item by item to TRY to find what I wanted to order.Surprisingly, many of the everyday items at the store were not available online. Since the products are in random order, I ended up looking COMPLETELY thru multiple categories item by item to NOT find it sold online. Ridiculous waste of time!! The website told me curbside pickup. I placed my order of 10 items overnight while store was closed. I scheduled my pickup between 11am-12pm. Around 11:50am I received an email saying my order was not ready yet, and was late.I ordered 10 things, 3 of them were multiples!! Received email stating my order was ready at 12:15pm. I thought I could order online, and have it brought out to my car. It would be quick and easy. Nothing about this order was quick or easy. Then the email tells me to go into DG app to tell store I am there. I didnt place my order thru DG app. I just used the website! I do not want to download DG app. The only way to finalize the pickup of the order is thru the app. Even thru my order did not start in the app. RIDICULOUS! Step 2 of the email tells me to come inside store and find 'pickup order shelves' and get my order. OMG!! My order said curbside pickup!! All of this nonsense, and I still have to go in the store!! I wasted SO MUCH TIME!! It would have been so much easier to just go to the store and buy what I needed. Ordering online with curbside pickup was supposed to be quicker, easier, and prevent me from going inside store!! ABSOLUTELY NONE OF THIS HAPPENED!! I went inside to get my bags, and the TP I ordered was out of stock! They don't do substitutions, so I got my other items, and had to go shop and pickup TP! I originally ordered 2 8 packs of TP, which I did not get in my online order. When I went back to get TP at the store, one 8 pack of the exact TP I ordered was sitting on the shelf. 10 minutes after Im emailed my order is ready, why is there one pack available? Ridiculous! So frustrating! My cred card was charged for the TP I did not get. It took 7 days for DG to redo the correct charges. From step 1 to 7 days after my purchases, this whole process was an unorganized mess!! Do not shop DG online unless you want to waste a bunch of time, and be disappointed! It is the complete opposite of the ease of shopping online with Amazon, or WalMart. I ONLY go to DG cuz its conveniently located. Right now, Im so upset with my last experience..Im not going to Cortland DG anytime soon. Read moreI live close to this dollar general. I only stop by if I need something on short notice and don't have time to go into Dekalb. There hasn't been a single time where I've gone to purchase something and haven't waited at least 5 minutes for someone to come to the register. There's a frog at the front that says "squeeze me for service" or something like that. Because no one waits at the register to help/greet customers. It doesn't matter if I squeeze once and wait or squeeze 5 times, I have to hang out at the register for at least 5 minutes. I went in today and a woman was behind the counter. She heard me squeak the frog, waited a few minutes, then came over to squeak it herself! I guess it was beneath her to take the 30 seconds to ring me up. I'm tired of the lack of basic customer service found here.

Read moreThe worst place to shop and used digital or any kind of coupons. The cashiers are very nasty. Store is dirty and can find the right price at all. I'm not going back at all. I was mistreated and felt like I was doing something wrong. Somebody have to do something, I ask for the manager she was worst, look like best friends.
