I bought a house in Cortland and the water smelled terrible. After speaking with the previous owners they said they’d call out Omega and have them make sure everything was working on the new system they had installed by Omega in the past year and 9 months. Omega came out and said there “was an air gap” in the line and their equipment was not functioning properly. They directed us to give it a few days to let the chlorine circulate. A week after I moved in, my water was still spitting out black and leaving my only tub completely BLACK. I have a 10 month old baby and did not feel comfortable bathing him in a black tub. I called them out for a second time and asked them to give the system another look and that I was not getting a chlorine reading and it didn’t look like the chlorine was pumping. Omega came out and said nothing was wrong. They said give it two to three weeks to cycle and add some more chlorine. That same day I added 2 gallons of chlorine to a filled chlorine tank. I drained the tanks and tried to circulate the water. After two weeks there was no difference and the chlorine level of the tank was not moving. I called them out for a third time. During this service call the SAME person who came out prior took apart the chlorine pump and says “someone messed with this, this ball shouldn’t be here”. I told him no one has touched your equipment but you. He disagreed with me and insisted that “someone” messed with it. He said give it another day and chlorine should start going now. I gave it another three days with no chlorine reading. I called again and the OWNER came to the property. He refused to answer any questions about prior visits. He blamed me for not maintaining the system (when I just moved in) and told me I’d need to buy a new tank ($2000) to fix it. When I asked him to explain what I paid for previously, he would not answer my questions, cut me off, and compared the system to buying a car. He walked off my property leaving my tank draining and my system on bypass without even telling me! When I said I’d like my money back for the wasted calls (three prior ones) he told me to take him to court and get a new company.
This company only wants to sell you equipment. DO NOT INSTALL THEIR EQUIPMENT. You will be stuck with equipment that they are incapable of fixing. Come to find out that multiple people on my street had the same issues. Go with...
Read moreOmega is an example of how all businesses should be and how they were at one time. Literally the most caring company my family has ever worked with. Extremely willing to meet your needs in a fair and reasonable manner, they make water softening affordable for those of us who can't exactly afford it but need it. Warranty on parts that aren't usually covered, typically you have to buy an entire unit. We were educated on the entire process and felt totally in control to make the best decision. It didn't feel like we were just doing a sale, we felt like family. Not to mention, they know H2O and their craft 100% and I feel that is so important especially so that we can all take care of this precious resource that is environmentally struggling in our...
Read moreI have an iron filter and water softener unit from Omega Water that I've had for 14 to 15 years and they have performed flawlessly. Recently I had an issue and took care of what I thought was causing the problem, but it didn't solve it 100%. So I called Omega Water for help. Most companies would want to set up an appointment to come out and troubleshoot. Deb was very kind and considerate and troubleshooted with me over the phone. To make a long story short, my problem was ultimately solved and everything is working great again. It only took a couple of phone calls at no charge. I would recommend this company for any water needs you have. The customer service has...
