Old Town Mission Thrift Store — Local services in Cottonwood

I would give this store zero if I could.

I visited this store today and was very excited to see what they have in stock.

I was originally told that this store was a good place to shop because it helps the needy. I myself have had family members homeless and have been in need and wanted to support their cause, but the attitude and actions of the manager was extremely off putting.

The manager stopped a customer in line. I myself was in the store and witnessed the whole thing.

She stopped the customer and began to accuse them of “reselling” items they purchased at the discount.

The manger began to threaten the customers that if the owner or herself found out that they were “reselling” they would be banned from shopping there. I didn’t know that was a rule to shop there, (that we will be told what we can and can’t do with the items WE purchase with our OWN MONEY that are no longer in their possession _very weird policy)

The woman (customer) began to explain that she had a new business or something that she was decorating with the stuff from the store (offered to show pictures of her office to prove she wasn’t) and that it was completely rude of the manger to not only speak to her so harshly, and to threaten her of being banned , but to also have this conversation in FRONT OF THE WHOLE STORE !

The manger kept cutting the woman off and kept threatening to ban her and making accusations and being EXTREMELY rude to the woman. If she or the owners had any issues with this customer or ANY customers they should have the courtesy of having a private conversation on the side NOT in front of other customers and their employees.

I have never seen such unprofessional behavior and conduct before and will not be recommending others to shop at this store. Very disappointing, especially from a “Christian” establishment. Their attitudes there DO NOT represent God or HIS image of kindness...

LOVE!LOVE!LOVE! this thrift store! The store itself isn't very large but they have a great selection of men, women, and children's clothing and shoes in addition to household goods, some office supplies, books and CDs and movie DVDs. The store's very reasonably priced merchandise is neatly arranged. And, I have always found their staff courteous and helpful. They also have another building that houses furniture and appliances. I also like that the proceeds are provided to needy families and help provide services for the homeless: meals, shower facilities, clothing to name a few. Great place for bargain shopping and to help the needy populace. +JMJ Sunday, 25 September 2022. Though I didn't shop here today (they are always closed on Sunday ~ stopped by mainly to take photos because they have added a few things outside their building) I have certainly returned to this Thrift store a number of times to purchase bowls for my cats, kitchen gadgets, and to look for shoes and clothing. Every visit is different because they seem always to be rearranging the store's layout. Which actually is nice because with all the donations they receive, everything is nicely arranged not cluttered at all. And, the workers are always welcoming. Good people. Great...

Mission Thrift Store is the shop that benefits the Old Town Mission. They have a huge sales floor housed in two different buildings. The variety of items that are donated to them is tremendous. I continue to be amazed that they constantly have so many furniture pieces, and constantly changing inventory. They take great care to ensure their merchandise is clean and in good repair.

The employees and volunteers are pleasant and personable & work hard to display merchandise in pleasing arrangements. This is unlike some thrift shops that just pile their things all around without attention to merchandising.

Mission Thrift Store offers a variety of sales each week. Every day is a particular category of sale -- Senior Day, Ladies' Clothing Day, Men's Clothing, etc., Culminating in Half Price Saturday every week.

My business relies on finding nice quality pieces to upcycle/repurpose for resale. Mission Thrift Store never disappoints. I'm very pleased to be able to support their mission while finding items that allow me to in turn offer my artwork at reasonable prices.
