Medical Imaging at Northern Arizona Healthcare — Local services in Cottonwood

MEDICAL RECORDS DEP. It has been frustrating trying to get medical records for continuing treatment . Unbelievable!!

1. June 15, 2021 called to request medical records to continue my treatment for posible surgery , I have cancer and need treatment and possible surgery ASAP . They sent me the “packet via email “ for me to fill out and fax , or scan and email. Printed paper work filled it out faxed it onJune 16,2021 (next day ) at12:23 pm . Called an hour later “ they have not received it , she tells me they go first to Flagstaff then dispersed to correct locations , asked her why ?! She said she did not know 🤨 . Called today 06/17/2021 , they could not find it , it took two “ persons “ to search and still could not find it. I expressed my concern , there is private info included in those fax , my DL etc . She did not know what to tell me .she suggested I send it via email, asked her if I could take pictures and email them to her , she said that would work ….And she will be calling me when she receives it. I sent them the email at 11:50 am . It is now 1:30 pm and have not heard from her nor anyone in the office .

2. I have to consult with a oncologist surgeon ASAP , I’am on my second round of cancer , need to get this going and no one , I mean no one has taken the time to focus on this matter . I know I’am not the only person requesting medical records , but why give you an option when you call to choose “ medical records for continuing treatment “ if they don’t have the resources to provide that ? Now the ladies that I spoke to were nice , I refuse to put their names in this post , however , this...

WARNING: this facility is actually located in the hospital. You will not only pay the radiologist but you'll also pay the hospital for your visit (if you've ever been to the hospital you know what this means).

There's NO COMMUNICATION about how the billing works, anywhere. I'd bet this is because they want to play dumb because if anyone knew what they were getting into they would DEFINITELY go somewhere else!!!

So if all you need is an xray and your insurance is awful like most plans these days, you're better off driving to a different provider that ISN'T OWNED by Verde Valley Healthcare.

This is more proof of how broken our Healthcare system is and how overpriced options are these days because everything is owned by the hospital.

I thought this was a private facility, instead I discovered it was in the hospital and without thinking about the the consequences, I went through with the xray.

For not considering the consequences of the billing I ended up having to pay over $700 out of my pocket for a 10 minute visit- for two x-rays - most of that was the facility bill.

Hopefully this arms you with more info than the hospital would ever give and saves you some...

I have had numerous needs for imaging met by the good folks at VVIC and I have nothing but good things to say. I’ve also witnessed the profanity-laden rudeness of some patients who because their needs can’t be met RIGHT THIS SECOND that then take their revenge by leaving one star reviews. We have a big-city class imaging center right here in little old Cottonwood. If you think you can do better, drive an hour or two. Thanks to Richie for his care and respect during my MRI today, but he stands with many other very capable people who strive for excellence…but they lack super powers.
